Steve McQueen's life was an amazing journey of challenging himself as an actor, producer, director, writer and motorcross/racecar driver. Steve McQueen funded the Bruce Brown's motocross documentary On Any Sunday. Additionally, the "It Just Doesn't Matter" line in the song is very punk, which comes from the movie "Meatballs" with Bill Murray. In the movie Murray is a summer camp counselor and his camp (lowly ability) must compete in sports against another camp (high ability)in set of games. He says we will probably lose, but we gotta try, then they chant "it just doesn't matter" several times to get fired up. The attitude in this line matched Steve McQueen's energy.
