Story Behind The Song

Rock God is a tongue-in-cheek commentary about the sexism that is rampant in the music industry. In this song, vocalist Andrea Gonzales-Paul (now Di Bernardo) assumes the character of Rock God. Male Rock God behavior, as depicted in the lyrics of the song, has been encouraged, promoted, justified, and modeled at almost every turn. We love when our male Rock Gods act bad. When women in the music industry demonstrate Rock God actions, they're vilified, called sluts and whores and labeled distasteful and not to be looked up to.
