To Become The Best

Story Behind The Song

I love the concept of striving to achieve. My daughter was involved in athletics, she threw javelin for Southern England as a teenager and I watched many times, on my days off, events in which she competed. She then played softball for GB for a couple of years and I watched her play in Valencia in the European Championships a few years ago. She is now a Sports Science teacher at a senior school in Feltham. However, I am so proud of her because as a person who has been diagnosed with severe comprehension dyslexia she gained a first honours degree and then her masters in sport science. She never gives up and is determined to succeed and loves helping pupils that she identifies as struggling. I am not a recognised celebrity songwriter but I am serious about writing lyrics and composing melodies and I hope that this song is enjoyed and provides a feel good factor for anyone facing a challenge..

Lyrics

To Become The Best

To become the best
You have to last the longest
To become the best
You must survive.

To become the best
You have to prove the strongest
You must pass the test
You must come alive.

To defeat the rest
You have to last the longest
To defeat the rest
You must strive

To become the best
You have to prove the strongest
You must win when pressed
You must come alive.

To become the best
You have to be driven
To become the best
You must have striven
To become the best.

To become the best
You have to last the longest
To become the best
You must survive.

To become the best
You have to prove the strongest
You must pass the test
You must come alive.

To become the best
You have to be driven
To become the best
You must have striven
To become the best.

To become the best
You have to be driven
To become the best
You must have striven
To become the best.
