Song Description
The Legend of Arakai
(As told in the last tongue of the mountain seers)
Long before time was measured in years, before maps named the valleys and kings claimed thrones, there was only the land and its keepers. Among them was Arakai .
Arakai is more than myth -- he is memory. The Silver Dragon of Arakai was not a beast of war, but a guardian born of celestial sorrow. In every tale, he is called upon not by kings or armies, but by those forgotten -- the lost, the voiceless, the children crying in the dark.
He does not speak in words. His voice is wind. His truth is music.
Arakai was unlike other dragons. He did not hoard gold or raze cities. Instead, he carried the weight of the world's forgotten truths in his heart -- truths etched in runes that once lined the cliffs of the Old World, now eroded by centuries of silence. He was a guardian, but not of treasure. He protected the fragile: children born of war, creatures exiled by fear, and villages buried in the shadows of empire.
The people never truly saw him. Only the trembling trees and sudden warm winds told of his passage. Only in dreams did he speak, in a language older than voice, where music and memory intertwined. Those he touched described a melody--so piercing, so tender--that it stayed with them forever, as if their soul had been marked by a divine breath.
As darkness returned to the world in new forms--machines of war, cruel empires masked in reason--Arakai began to stir again. Myths tell of a silver glow rising between thunderclouds, of wings wide enough to eclipse the sun, of a cry that could silence armies and bring tyrants to their knees.
But Arakai never fought with fire. His power was in presence, in the way the earth calmed when he landed, in how fear unraveled at the sound of his arrival. His scales shimmered not only with moonlight, but with the reflections of every soul he saved.
They say he sleeps still, under the Veilspire Mountains, dreaming of the time when he'll be needed once more

Lyrics
"Voice of the Silver Flame" Yves Stilmant © 2025
[Verse 1a]
I rose when thunder split the sky,
From mountains carved in days gone by.
The stars once whispered me to life--
A silver oath to end all strife.
[Verse 1b]
They feared the fire I never cast,
A shadow tethered to the past.
But in my chest, the light still burns,
For every soul the dark has turned.
[Pre-Chorus]
I'm not the storm, I'm what remains--
A shield that stands through loss and flame.
[Chorus]
I am Arakai, the silver flame,
A name they sing but can't contain.
Wings wide open over cries,
I guard the hope they can't disguise.
My heart is bound to every cry--
I fly for them... I'll always rise.
[Verse 2a]
I've watched the kings who rose and fell,
Fought wars the bards forgot to tell.
But still I soar through shattered skies,
To keep the last of truth alive.
[Verse 2b]
I could've vanished long ago,
A myth beneath the ice and snow.
But legends live when love still calls--
So I remain when empires fall.
[Pre-Chorus]
I'm not the end, I'm what survives--
The echo in a world that strives.
[Chorus]
I am Arakai, the silver flame,
No curse, no crown will stake their claim.
Over towers lost and time's disguise,
I shield the weak beneath the lies.
Their stories light my endless flight--
I burn for them... I'll always rise.
[Bridge]
Call me monster, call me ghost--
I carry those who need me most.
Not for glory, not for pride,
But for the child too small to hide.
[Double Chorus]
I am Arakai, the silver flame,
Their silent vow, their sacred name.
Across dimensions, death, and time,
My breath defends the last divine.
I fly for love, I fight for grace--
Their silent guardian in space.
I am Arakai...
I am their flame.
[Outro]
And when the stars forget my name,
They'll still be safe...
within my flame.
