Song Description
"One More Look" is one of the most personal songs I've ever written -- imagined through the eyes of my daughter, looking at me as the years begin to weigh heavier, and the mind starts to wander.
It's about love that doesn't fade with memory. About a daughter's strength, dignity, and unwavering compassion as she holds space for the father who once held everything for her. It's not just about aging -- it's about what remains when so much is forgotten: the bond, the grace, the quiet knowing.

One More Look
Written and composed by Yves Stilmant © 2025
Verse 1A
You used to lift me off the ground
Fix what broke without a sound
But now your hands, they shake a bit
And sometimes words don't seem to fit
Verse 1B
You stare a while before you speak
Forget the days, forget the weeks
But I still see the man you are
My hero, though the years feel far
Pre-Chorus
And when the world moves on too fast
I'll hold your story, hold it fast
They might not see you like I do
But you're still strong, you're still you
Chorus
Let me give you one more look
You're still the man I've always known
Even if your mind lets go
Your heart still beats the love you've shown
They may forget, they may not see
But Daddy, you're still whole to me
So take my hand, we'll write the book
All I ask... is one more look
Verse 2A
You struggle now to tie your shoes
Drop your coffee, curse the news
But I still hear that gentle tone
That taught me how to stand alone
Verse 2B
They treat you like you're halfway gone
Like your best days have come and flown
But I see fire behind those eyes
And strength the world can't recognize
Pre-Chorus
And when you drift or lose your place
I'll be your light, I'll hold your grace
So take my hand and let me stay
We'll walk each memory anyway
Chorus
Let me give you one more look
You're still the man I call my own
The one who led me stone by stone
Even now, you're not alone
They may forget, they may not see
But Daddy, you're still home to me
So don't let go, just take a look
All I ask... is one more look
Bridge
You gave me roots, you gave me wings
Taught me hope in broken things
Now let me be your steady ground
When you feel lost, I'll hold you down
Final Chorus (Double)
So let me give you one more look
Before the light begins to bend
I'll love you to the quiet end
You're not fading, you're just spent
They may forget, they may not see
But you're forever safe with me
I see you whole, I see you strong
I see the place where I belong
Don't walk away, don't close the book
All I ask... is one more look
Outro
Yeah... just one more look
Before you go...
