Story Behind The Song
I was inspired to write and record this type of song by my dear Broadjam friend, Slava Fiks, who is convinced I really do have "a softer side."
Song Description
YEP, MOST OF MY STUFF IS UPBEAT, SILLY, HEAVY-DUTY, "LET'S PARTY" KIND OF MATERIAL. SO HERE GOES MY SASSY REPUTATION! This is an initial demo recording. Just thought I'd throw it out there as-is and see if it bounces around at all.

Lyrics
A SOFTER SIDE OF ME
(Verse)
As a child I was so fragile
I've seen changes in myself
When you fly away to make your way
That's when you learn to be tough
(Verse)
But my heart was always tender
And my love was always true
I could bow down and surrender
I could let you see right through
(Chorus)
I've had my heart torn into pieces
And I've cried a river of tears
I never meant to hurt those hearts
I fractured through the years
If I'd never taken that rough ride
There'd be nothing to compare
There's always been a softer side
Deep in me somewhere
(Bridge)
Walls of stone protected me
A sweet melody resurrected me
No matter how they see me now
A warrior, or a delicate flower
I won't deny, there's always been
A softer side of me
(Verse)
The diary of personality
Takes many twists and turns
This is how we grow up
This is the way we learn
(Chorus)
I've had my heart torn into pieces
And I've cried a river of tears
I never meant to hurt those hearts
I fractured through the years
If I'd never taken that rough ride
There'd be nothing to compare
There's always been a softer side
Deep in me somewhere
