There's Not An App For That

Story Behind The Song

We started with a lyric originally titled "Find My Other Half"- a song about a girl tracking her man with a new app on his phone. Written from a guy perspective, we thought 'what if we rewrite it from a female point of view?' So we totally rewrote the song so that the guy tracks the girl with the app. But now, of course, the girl outsmarts the guy and uses the app to her advantage. It was a great relationship, but she knows he doesn't trust her anymore. Now, he's missing out on all her fun and wild times. Turns out 'There's Not An App For That'

Song Description

Girl power! The guy tries to track his girl with an app, only to find out she outsmarts him by leaving her phone at work and home while going out having a blast without him. Too bad for him, There's Not An App For That. As she says, "There ain't no app that can ever bring me back".

Lyrics

Verse 1:
Dinner and a gift on Valentine's Day so excited that I wanted to scream
I so couldn't wait to open it up expecting a diamond engagement ring
The box was kind of big and it shocked me to find a smartphone wrapped up inside
My man set it up and showed me how the screen had a picture of us from our date last week

Prechorus:
What I didn't know is that he had it preloaded
With a app so he could track right where I'm at

Chorus:
I know he thinks I'm slow but I figured him out
He was watching my every move like he had some doubts
And since he tried to hide it, I thought it might be a riot
To never let him see the wild side I have, Ha, too bad there's not an app for that

Verse 3:
So I dropped off my phone and I hopped in my truck and I headed for a dip in the creek
Looking at his app, he thought I was home but he missed out on my tiny bikini
I tricked him into thinking I was working till nine but I was honky tonk line dancing that night
He thought I was with Mama back in Tennessee instead I had a girl weekend at Panama Beach

Prechorus:
He could've had a lot of fun but he's dumb and he'll never know it
And there ain't no app that can ever bring me back

Chorus

Bridge:
So I said, "So long, baby, have a nice life
Of lonely nights with your handheld device"

Alt Chorus:
I know he thinks I'm slow but I figured him out
He was watching my every move like he had some doubts
He had to go and make it all complicated
I had to let a good thing go and I really hate it
And since he tried to hide it, I thought it might be a riot
To never let him see the wild side I have, Ha, too bad there's not an app for that
