Story Behind The Song
I started a songwriter's group because I wanted to network with other songwriters and Douglas Reed joined and we wrote this song together.
Song Description
This is a fast old-fashioned waltz about a guy who meets his love on the banks of the Coeur d'Alene River and is asking her to marry him and he'll build a place on the river where they will spend their lives together.

Lyrics
Moonlight on the Coeur d'Alene
Verse 1:
Will you meet me tonight in the moonlight,
on the banks of the old Coeur d'Alene?
If you can't come tonight, come tomorrow...
I can't wait 'til I see you again.
Verse 2:
By the river is where I first met you,
That's where you told me your name.
Blue were your eyes like the river,
That river they call Coeur d'Alene.
Chorus 1:
Will you meet me tonight in the moonlight
at the end of that old dusty lane.
Will you meet me tonight in the moonlight,
on the banks of the old Coeur d'Alene?
Verse 3:
I would build you a cabin or mansion...
Any place with a river-side view.
Just as long as it's close to the river,
Only the Coeur d'Alene will do.
Chorus 2:
Will you meet me tonight in the moonlight
and tell me that you'll change your name..
Will you meet me tonight in the moonlight,
on the banks of the old Coeur d'Alene?
Tag:
If you say, "Yes," then we will be married,
on the banks of the old Coeur d'Alene.
