Story Behind The Song
Lee came over to my house with a gallon of whiskey. we had a few shots and wrote this song in a half an hour. We wrote 3 songs that night and all are commercial. The whole co-writing thing is for commercial success which is why we all do it. This is one of the few songs I took into a folk or bluegrass vein to show the song and not a production. I love stories and this paints a picture of a small town diner, a drifter, and a farmer all tangled up in love.

Lyrics
She was from a small town
Never really got around
Til he walked in that night.
He was just a rebel boy
Born and raised in Illinois
With no direction in his life
He said, ?Can you help me please??
She said, ?Sure what do ya need?
Are you stickin? around or just passin? by??
He laid the menu down,
Smiled and turned around
And when she looked into his eyes.
She knew, he was the right one
For all, the wrong reasons
Chorus
She knew he would carry her away
With just one look, that?s all it took
She just knew.
Picked her up at closing time
Headed for that county line
Neither one was lookin? back
They stopped at a KOA
Made love ?til the break of day
And in the morning light she said.
I knew you were the right one
For all the wrong reasons
I knew you would carry me away
With just one look, that?s all it took
I knew
10 years of love she left behind
And the kids
As an Oklahoma farmer?s wife.
She knew, he was the right one
She left, for the wrong reasons
She knew he would take her back today
With just one look, that?s all it took
She just knew.
She knew.
