Story Behind The Song
Sitting in my studio in Nashville, this popped into my head. I wrote it in 30 minutes give or take a few. Demo'd it and put it on MP3.com back in 1998. It went to number 1 on the country chart and stayed in the top ten for months. I re wrote the chorus after it was submitted through Taxi several years ago. I've finally started to demo my catalog again, since I'm co-writing everyday. And had to get this one done because it's a definite hit. The reviewer sevaral years ago loved it... hopefully I'll get it cut. It would be nice to say "Taxi helped with this one, not my plugger " and get some Taxi press... lol But really I did re write part of it because of the first review I got from Ya'll!
Song Description
Enjoy yourself but be smart about it. This is a song sooo many people can relate to. It's about a guy tearing up the town, getting pulled over, thrown in jail and calling his wife to bail him out! It's a fun song about being a redneck.

Lyrics
I?m Gonna Pay For That
Ó1998 Forrest Lee Jr.
Verse 1
Well I tied one on last night
Really tore up the town
Lit up like the forth of July
We burned that beer joint down
Got up in my truck to dive
Lord I should have known
Now here I am in the jailhouse
When I should be sleepin? at home
Chorus
I?m gonna pay for that
But it was worth every minute
You only get one life
Give it all you can give it
When tomorrow comes
I?ll be wondering why, why, why
I?m gonna pay for that
But I sure had a good time
Verse 2
Well the jailer said one phone call
So I called my wife for the bail
She told me that was the last time
And I could just stay in jail
We had a good thing going
Now she?s as good as gone
I?ll be payin? on the mortgage
And I can?t even go back home
Chorus
I?m gonna pay for that
But it was worth every minute
You only get one life
Give it all you can give it
When tomorrow comes
I?ll be wondering why, why, why
I?m gonna pay for that
But I sure had a good time
I'm gonna pay for that
till the day I die
