Story Behind The Song
I woke up about 2:30 AM and had this "One George Jones" line in my head. I couldn't figure out what the hell it meant but I wrote it down anyway. I grabbed a glass of water and then sat down and stared at it for a few minutes and BANG! It hit me... I wrote the chorus and then went back to bed. I finished it the next morning and played it for a few people the next day. Every reaction was the same so I recorded it and sent it to the local indie station. It's been in rotation ever since and it's my most requested song at live shows. Someone is going to have a hit with this song!

Lyrics
One George Jones
Give me one, shot of whiskey
And make the rest all change
I?ll be over, in the corner
Pourin? out my pain
I?ll be feeding, that old jukebox
Till the barman says go home
Cause every night, since you left me
I need one George Jones
Chorus
One George Jones, One Merle Haggard
One more Lefty, will leave me staggerin? to the bar
For another shot of whiskey
And I?ll be over in the corner
Feeding that old jukebox
And it will start all over with one George Jones
She was everything I needed
I lived my life for her
Now I?m lost in a bottle
Trying to fight the hurt
But my friends are gonna help me
In this place I now call home
Cause every night since she left me
I need one George Jones
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
Every night I hear the jukebox
Calling out my name
I?m the one receiving
All the Possum?s pain.
Repeat Chorus
