Story Behind The Song
When I exercise I like to read. On this particular day while I was working out at the 24-Hour Fitness in Horton Plaza (Downtown San Diego), I was running on the treadmill and reading through the Psalms.
I made it to Psalm 19, read the first verse, and inspiration suddenly hit me. At that point I closed the Book and started singing the hook over and over again. That's what got me through the the workout as well as allowed me to remember the melody line to "The heavens declare Your glory, creation displays the wonder of Who You are, the Sovreign Lord..."
Later that day I met up with Joey at work (Community Bible Church) and we sat down to finish up the song. We perfected the last part of the chorus and wrote the verses together.
Song Description
I often look off into the sky and marvel at the greatness of God! To see how the sun, moon, stars, planets, and clouds sit up in the heavens and do not come crashing down on us is a testament of the awesomeness of God.
And as awesome a a wonder it is to see God's handiwork, He cares for every detail of our lives. The fact that God would send His Son down from His heavenly post to become a martar for all of mankind proves His desire to be with us - His creation.
