Story Behind The Song
I'm always on the lookout for a good hook of course. In a non-religious context, I once heard someone say "hand me all the broken pieces." It sounded to me like something Jesus would say, adding "and I'll repair your heart."
Song Description
If a person will humble themselves before God, all can be repaired. In this song, Jesus is indicating this to all who will listen. He acknowledges that a person can be so broken and go so low that the person might not see any way out but that if that person will simply give over all the broken pieces to his Lord, he will be redeemed.

Lyrics
VERSE
I know it seems like every time you stand up you take another fall
Sometimes you don't think you have the will to live another day
And I know it seems like life is just a wall that's way too tall
How can it be, you say, you can't find a better way?
VERSE
You're thinkin' you must bottom out before climbing higher
But that's so hard to believe when the bottom is nowhere in sight
I know all you see, from where you sit, is just a raging fire
I know your life is dark, but if you'll turn to me, you'll see the light
CHORUS
Just hand me all the broken pieces when your life has come apart
Just hand me all the broken pieces, and I'll repair your heart
If you'll give them to me without reservation
I'll give them back whole and with great celebration
But first you must hand me all the broken pieces
SOLO
VERSE
Faith is the glue that holds everything together
There is no substitute; faith is forever
I am the only one who can see you through it all
Just call me to your side -- hand me all the broken pieces
Repeat CHORUS
TAG
Oh, won't you hand me all the broken pieces?
