Story Behind The Song
A friend of mine got married and then realized a couple years later that his wife had done him wrong in every way she could. So he got a divorce. But that didn't mean he was no longer in love with her. To express himself, he wrote down some "lyrics" and brought them to me. This song resulted.
Song Description

Lyrics
VERSE
I went to work one day and there she was
The new kid on the block
By quittin' time I was so in love
I forgot to punch the clock
VERSE
It was the first of April; I will never forget
She was starin' back at me
One April later, we agreed to agree
I was her guy; she was the best
CHORUS
(But) Now I'm April's fool
Yes, I'm April's fool
I gave her my heart
Then she broke all the rules
But, Lord, I'm still April's fool
VERSE
Life with her was everything to me
She was heaven sent
But I guess the devil has blue eyes and wears blue jeans
'Cause April came and April went
Repeat CHORUS
BRIDGE
Just let me get to May, then find my way to June
I never thought forever, Lord, would end so soon
Repeat CHORUS
RIDE
Repeat CHORUS
TAG
Yes, Lord, I'm still April's fool
