Story Behind The Song

I was at a party, saw a beautiful girl, I tried to introduce myself and talk to her, but she ignored me and blew me off. She didn't realize that if she gave me just one chance she could have fallen in love with me. But even if not, we could have become great friends. And that could also have been a wonderful thing. A few days later I saw Neil Young in concert, came home, strapped on the harmonica and wrote this song in a matter of hours.
