Story Behind The Song
"i've been thinking" is about remembering my childhood friend who moved away years ago. I hope this song will inspire others to reach out to their old friends and reconnect."
Song Description
"I've Been Thinking" is a reflective ballad about remembering good times with childhood friends - being silly and laughing out loud - and the bittersweet feeling know that they are no longer in your life. While writing the song, Della Pietra began to question whether the memories she has of her old friend were so incredible because she still views the friend through the eyes of her younger self, or whether this person was truly special.

Lyrics
I've been sitting in a tree
Contemplating and replaying every life decision I have ever made
Got away from all the noise to have a quiet moment here in the shade
And while I was thinking you came up in my memories
And just to clarify, this isn't a love song
So here's a quick summary:
My first BFF moved the summer of first grade
And then, two years later you moved too
I've made a lot of friends since then
And met so many people
But no one compares to you
So I've been thinking
Maybe people are nicer when they're young
Cause who cares
Who's the best or what we will become
Never scared to laugh out loud
Or that people would think we're too much
Yeah I know that we were kids
But maybe I should've kept in touch
At the time we made a vow
We would meet up once again when we grew up and you would live right next door
Didn't even think to share our numbers since the plan seemed so sure
Then we went our separate ways
We haven't spoken since
If you're out there and you hear this song, I hope you know you've been missed
And I've been thinking
Maybe people are nicer when they're young
Cause who cares
Who's the best or what we will become
Never scared to laugh out loud
Or that people would think we're too much
Yeah I know that we were kids
But maybe I should've kept in touch.
Oooh
I should've kept in touch.
Oooh
I should've kept in touch.
Oooh
I should've kept in touch.
Oooh
I've been thinking
If you saw me, would you know my name?
It's been years, and I don't know if things would be the same
Maybe now that we've grown up, our friendship's at its end
But do you ever laugh out loud and think of your old friend?
