State Of Emergency's first album was done in 2002 by multiple producers Unem Entertainment, Streetlife productions, Teflon Don Juan (Rubber City Hitmen), Killam (Kickdrums). The Album, Grown Man Style was successful and has a few instant classics on it. With my first album done I was ready to start on the second album. But as I proceded to find a recording studio I could call home, I kept running into dead ends. So the only option I had was to get my own equipment and start recording myself. The first album I produced was for a gangster rap group called Taliban Mafia in 2005, I had assistance with final production and learned a lot about mixing, mastering as well as EQ and compression. From that point in time my best friend and I decided to start Print And Press Publishing. The reason we started or own publishing company is so we can retain the rights to all our material; songs, poems, books, original artwork etc.
Alan McClendon is the head producer, engineer, manager, graphic designer, video editor and songwriter. Alan is attending the University OF Phoenix for business administration and plans on graduating with a B.A. in 2013. Everything that he knows outside of art was self taught or I asked somebody to help me learn it. Having a family background in music it's in my blood to want to create. Since the start of State Of Emergency we have had opportunities to work with various artists from Cleveland, New York, Detroit, Atlanta, even L.A... We have done numerous shows around our city as well as places out of town like Detroit, Columbus, Cincinatti, Indianapolis and Toledo. What that has done is helped us make a name for ourselves. We have done numerous shows from open mics to paid venues. State Of Emergency has become a well rounded company with great music to go alongside their great stage performance. We are very ambitious when it comes to making music and always have new fresh ideas to put to the test. We are not scared of failure, but we refuse to meet defeat. "When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us," Helen Keller. We are ready to let our voices be heard and let people feel our words; we are ready for the Big Time! All we need is 1 opportunity and we will show anybody on any label that we are the next big music group to shake up the industry.
