I am an electric and upright bass player. My background started in Jazz but playing in cover bands doing good tunes with fun/challenging bass lines was what I pursued.  I now have a successful sax playing son, Evan Drybread with a new Jazz Album called Tiger Tail...pretty proud dad.

I worked with Robin for a few years in a rock cover band called Champ.  A bunch of great players and female vocalist Julie Ivory.  Don't really know how I ended up getting an audition for the band but when I heard Robin, I knew I had to leave a relatively easy, high paying lounge band gig.  There was nothing we could not cover in Champ mostly due to Robin and female vocalist Julie.  So many tunes require high male voice singers and usually one can only find female vocalists with the proper range, e.g. covering Rush. Drummer Scott Shpepard and keyboardist Greg Siebert were wonderful.  I had a challenge following the bass player who left the band (Chris Sidwell) who is very successful. The challenge of playing in Champ was impossible to resist and now Robin has surpassed any expectations I had for his musicality.  My comment, awesome, I'm there...and would love to be part of this music when possible.

Though I was out of music for a few decades making a decent living, I have never really given up and am pursuing new music and the creativity and musicality that one can enjoy with good players/composers.
