Bio
Poppermost is a 60’s & 70’s style alternative pop/rock band based in Las Vegas, NV that was formed in July 2001 by singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Alex Oliver along with bassist, Roy Al Rendahl, who also provides the visual artistry for the band. Alex and Roy met during Alex’s first attempt to form his dream band in Las Vegas. When he realized the dream was not happening, he asked Roy to join him as they divorced themselves from that group to go their own way. July 4, 2001 truly became an independence day and Poppermost was born. The name originates from the early Beatles’ inspirational call and response, “…to the toppermost of the poppermost.” Destiny brought these two artists together, like music soul mates. The boys got to work learning Alex’s original songs, began recording in Roy’s home studio, getting their music up on the Internet, and playing out at local open mics and invitation-only venues. The diversity and quality of their music brings varied reactions from audiences, all enthusiastic. Their current goal is to make a decent living doing what they love by putting on a great show that includes playing covers of the pop/rock bands they all enjoy. That means having the excitement of a rock 'n’ roll party, the exhilaration of a spiritual revival and the energy of a dance party, and in the end everything always comes back to rock 'n’ roll.
