Nina has been a pro jazz pianist/vocalist around L.A. for 23 years. While pursuing her B.A. in Music at CCNY in the late '70's, she studied with the famed late John Lewis of the MJQ, and has studied with renowned pianists Don Friedman, Milcho Leviev, & Terry Trotter. Nina leads her "All Key'd Up" groups and performs with other bands; Ernie Andrews, Leslie Baker, Doug MacDonald, Richard Simon, & Scott Whitfield are among her many credits. Her style has been likened to Diana Krall, Kenny Barron, & Marian McPartland; she favors purist pianists like Sonny Clark & Wynton Kelly. Nina has perfect pitch & can play in semi-"real time" with new songs. A published songwriter who studied privately with the renowned late Jack Segal (Scarlet Ribbons, etc.), Nina has a wide array of well-crafted originals. She currently writes lyrics to lovely melodies by drummer/ singer/guitarist/published writer Joe Barile; they have 5 demo'd songs with 6 more in progress, in the swing/Latin jazz/pop jazz genres.
