neutral mute mixes a rock-n-roll sensibility, with experimental production techniques and an intimate knowledge of the importance and evolution of dance music. In New York City, front-man Dennis J. McNany, worked with Plantain Films and Records, helping to cultivate the experimental/dance label DFA Records (the Rapture, Black Dice). While working and engineering with James Murphy (Trans Am, Le Tigre, BS2000) and Tim Goldsworthy (UNKLE, Mo’ Wax) McNany learned valuable production techniques which he employs in the production of his Neutral Mute projects and his freshly formed “Run-Roc Records.”

Neutral mute has been dj’ing in New York City and Brooklyn for the past four years under the moniker ‘dj booth’. He has spun for crowds of up to 700 people in various venues such as Bowery Ballroom (NYC).
