The passion for creating is what drives Mista B, a singer, songwriter and producer whose music deals with relationships as well as the daily internal conflicts we all face. "I'm not all about love songs," he says. "Love is a large part of who we are, but there's more to us than just that, and I feel the need to express it." And that he does well. Interestingly enough, however, music was not his first love. "I've always been into visual art. I've been drawing since age three, but somehwere along the line, the music bug bit me." Apparently the seed that would grow into a love for music was planted early on in his life. "My mother sang and played piano constantly while I was growing up," he recalls, "and my father played a lot of soul records - Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and so on." It was these influences as well as contemporary artists like Maxwell, D'Angelo, and Brian Mcknight that helped shape his sound. As for where he's headed, he offers, "the future is my playground, so listen up."
