The poet known as Micah “Point” James was born in Lynchburg,Va; today he still resides in the same area. Born in the small inner-city of Lynchburg, Micah grew up in the Greenfield and Diamond Hill area of the small city. Fortunately, through all the sights of negativity Micah never got involved in such activities. He stayed to himself, with a couple of close companions; however, he took his frustrations of poverty towards athletics where he excelled. After high school Micah was awarded a partial athletic scholarship for football and basketball at Gardner-Webb University where he received his Bachelors in Business Management . Today he’s working fulltime at Framatome/Areva (Advanced Nuclear Power) and he just received his Associates Degree in Nuclear Technology from Central Community College. Through all the financial and mental setbacks in the young man’s life, Micah has excelled and his pain shows through his music.
Importantly, Micah has been writing short stories as well as refreshing poetry for a numerous amount of years. Four years ago he began the recording process only for entertainment purposes until his obsession with hip-hop began to grow, by observing his music over the past year, each verse is his personal pursuit for perfection. Recently, he released his first album (“The Way, The Truth, and The Life“) in his hometown, which he has sold a meager five thousand copies, which is surprising in a city where there’s a lack of support for rap music. Micah’s first album seems as if he’s been in the industry for years, he’s ahead of his peers lyrical, visually, and if continues he’ll become a superstar,” said Harold Sykes (CEO of Platinum Planet Entertainment).
“Micah believes in pure music, music you can feel. Lyrically, he stays away from music which doesn’t allow him to seriously think. He’s truly a creative artist, he hates to settle for the ordinary while staying away from anything negative; however, he makes you want to listen to whatever he‘s saying,” says Mr. Harold Sykes (CEO Platinum Planet Entertainment). Micah manages to weave through issues of identity while being clever with his vocabulary. His music is intriguing and he delivers promise on his first album “The Way, The Truth, & The Life” he gives listeners a refreshing characterization of a true lyricist.
