Maria Letona is a native of El Salvador and currently resides in Miami, Florida.

Ms. Letona received her Bachelor and Master degrees with Distinction in Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and earned her Doctorate in Musical Arts, Pi Kappa Lambda, at the University of Miami.

Ms. Letona is a keen exponent of the piano music of Rene Touzet. Touzet's piano music was the subject of her doctoral thesis. She often performs lecture-recitals on Touzet's music, has recorded a CD on a collection of his piano works, and has published an article on this subject in the April, 2006 Clavier Magazine issue.
