My Bio

Mahoganee, A graduate of the University of Life, is a singer & songwriter. Ask anyone who has been blessed to hear the voice of Mahoganee and they will respond with adjectives such as melodious, mesmerizing, soulful, and heartfelt. Coming from a family where both parents sang as well as her siblings there is no surprise why she was also blessed with the Gift of Music. Born and raised in the small historical town of Summerton, SC (Brown vs Board of Education/Briggs vs Elliott) music was always in her soul.
Upon moving to the Seaport City, Savannah, GA, she quickly began singing and traveling with local bands, doing local appearances in festivals, shows and even being in a commercial for the prestigious Savannah College of Art & Design singing the song Georgia. After leaving Savannah, for Hotlanta, where she was also welcomed by local bands and Hotspots. One in particular, Café 290 where she became a regular. She also won a contest and was able to perform live acapella on the Tom Joyner Skyy Show. She also performed on the Spoken Word CD “Elevation” of well known AIDS Activist & Motivtional Speaker, Denise Stokes on the Song "Good Luck", on 2nd album (Fierce, Badd & Dangerous) of the infamous Spoken Word Artist “Queen”, & background vocals on the album “Mint Condition” of local Atlanta artist, Alan Yates of the “Alan Yates Band”. Mahoganee now resides in resides Washington, DC where she frequents the local artist venues to perform regularly and is currently working on her second album. . So keep your eyes open and ears to the ground cause she’s bound to shake things up!
