An eclectic and memorable songwriter, Lis Soderberg's fresh, soulful voice delivers haunting melodies and compelling storytelling. She has won 1st place and other awards from various competitions (Billboard World Song Contest, ISC, Unisong and Star Search), and has had songs pitched to international artists, including Bette Midler.
Since moving from the Canadian prairies to Toronto, she continues to write and perform as a singer/songwriter, as well as being a guest performer with symphonies across North America with acclaimed "Jeans & Classics".
Soderberg is currently working on a full-length CD, to be released in late 2009.

An eclectic and memorable songwriter, Lis Soderberg's fresh, soulful voice delivers haunting melodies and compelling storytelling.
She has won first place and other awards from various competitions (Billboard World Song Contest, ISC, Unisong and Star Search), and has had her songs pitched to international artists, including Bette Midler.
Swedish-born and Saskatchewan prairie-raised, Soderberg's songwriting journey began as a pre-teen, when she plunked out songs of angst and youthful yearning on the family piano. After graduating from high school, she paid her dues on the road for 50 weeks a year with her 1st band, Connection, honing her skills as a live performer while learning to play and write on the guitar. After moving to Toronto to pursue music more seriously, she was involved in many projects before fronting popular Toronto-based band Mad About Plaid, who in 1990 took 1st place in the original "American Idol" - Star Search, hosted by Ed McMahon.
Soderberg's musical influences range from the classic to the obscure. Traditional or unconventional, pensive or joyful, her skilled and beautiful performances are intimate accounts of people she's created or observed, telling thought-provoking stories of journeys and transformation with a voice that has been variously described as sultry, silky, angelic, raw and quirky.
She continues to write and perform her original songs, as well as appearing with symphonies across North America with the acclaimed "Jeans 'N Classics", and is currently working on her first full-length CD, to be released in late 2009.
