Despite living in an age of expediency, Lisa likes to think out of the box and has a passion for soulful, thought provoking songs that offer a distinctive sound and materialise from personal experience rather than a marketing standpoint.

Lisa has an eclectic taste and many musical influences. To mention just a few, Chaka Khan, Alanis Morissette, Phyllis Hyman, Floetry, Stevie Wonder, Sarah Vaughn, Donald Fagan, Kings of Leon, Rachelle Ferrell and Melonie Daniels.
Throughout the 80's she entered competitions and sang at clubs and local events. Although she loved singing and despite the positive feedback from her peers she never really thought that she was very good at it.
When she was recommended as a session singer by a fellow musician she jumped at the chance and although full of nerves managed to get through the audition successfully.
As a result of this, throughout the 90's she found herself working with Ruby Turner, Jocelyn Brown, DesreƩ, Skin, appeared on SpeakEazy as a backing singer for D-Ream and was thrilled to be a part of the choir performing with Coolio Gangsta's Paradise on a show she grew up watching, Top of the Pops.
She has also worked with producers such as Ashley Ingram, Leee John, directed choirs at local churches and recorded jingles for Choice FM.
In 2000, she graduated from Buckinghamshire & Chiltern University with honours after studying music business to not only learn about the industry but to gain a clearer idea of the area she should place her focus. But she was still drawn to the creative aspect of the industry.
After experiencing some seasons of struggle and being diagnosed with Lupus she was led to increase her focus in writing.
The songs Whatcha Doing to Me? and Move On, Move Out Move Up are just a precursor to where she is going.
Lisa now sings purely to record her demo's and no longer performs but is active in her community motivating, encouraging and advising aspiring young artistes.
At present she is writing for children's charities, working on a musical and composing more songs to add to her ever increasing repertoire.
Lisa entered her first songwriting contest in 2009 and achieved the position of runner up in the RnB category.
One of Lisa's tracks was a winner in the Urban/RnB category in the UK Songwriting Contest 2010, a track in the Pop category was awarded semi-finalist position and another received semi-finalist position in the lyric category.
Lisa was awarded runner up position in the Song of the Year contest 2011 for her adult contemporary submission No Aeroplane Can Take Us.
