Laura Parker has performed as a singer/songwriter and recording artist since 1977. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she began playing music as a child. Heavily influenced by Southern blues and rock music, she picked up ryhthym guitar and singing. At age 18 she pursued a full-time career as performer and songwriter, while attending Georgia State University’s newly founded Commercial Music & Recording Department. She quickly made her way into the recording studios, performing lead and background vocals for television and radio jingles, and her own music & lyrics. During the 80's she continued to co-write with Atlanta and Nashville songwriters and was offered a writer’s contract with Kat Family Records of Atlanta. Her songs have won competitions through the Atlanta Songwriters Assoc. Laura writes and records in Atlanta with songwriter/Producer, Ty Roberts. Christian Rock, Pop, Country material, written with cross-over market potential.
