All-conquering Alt.Rock 4-piece from South London, Kobayashi make synth-driven alternative rock that defies categorisation.

Think QOTSA meeting Erasure in a sleazy jazz bar and you're on totally the wrong track. Imagine a heavier Athlete, a funkier Beta Band and you're still nowhere near it. Picture Emerson Lake & Palmer doing the running-man and you'rs still a mile wide from the sound.

Kobayashi take their cues from all these bands and more, influenced by every genre going but led mostly by the strange sounds in their heads.

Formed in 2006, Kobayashi have gigged extensively around London, including repeated appearances at Covent Garden's Rock Garden for the 2006 UK Battle Of The Bands, in which they came 3rd. Their song Bipolarity, which can be found on Broadjam was a semi-finalist in the 2007 UK Songwriting Competition. The Kobayashi live experience can be summed up in the words of Jim Benner, head of events at Xfm, when he said, "I'm a jaded old man, I've seen everything there is to see in music but I have never seen anything like that".
