Bio

Leah Hanna King has music in her blood, not surprising considering her background! Born to William King (The Commodores) & Shirley Hanna-King, Grammy Nominated Songwriter, Leah was writing songs as early & easily as other children used coloring books.

Although Leah was a prodigy, Shirley knew that talent lasts but childhood is fleeting so Leah wasn?t pushed into show biz. Still, people kept asking Leah to sing; Nat?l Anthems, graduations, weddings... Most didn?t even know she was a songwriter but time and again were struck by her soulful, haunting voice.

About age 10, Kenny Rogers heard Leah sing. He was so impressed he put her in the studio, calling her a "born singer/songwriter". He said ? Leah, no rush enjoy your youth but one day you?ll realize what you?re born to do.?

When it came time for college, Leah knew edication is life experience as much as academia so she left LA and headed deep south, Alabama! At Historic Tuskegee Institute, home of Booker T. Washington & George Washington Carver, she expected to find passion & purpose but something interesting happened. The old pattern was repeating. People were asking her to sing! Music had again become part of her life... somehow. She realized what others already knew; for Leah Hanna King, life without music wasn?t an option. She found herself. She finished the semester, packed her bags and headed home... to music.
