I specialize in producing music to picture, whether it be for video, TV, film, website, or game projects and have a strong background in music technology (I'm a regular contributor to Europe's leading recording technology magazine, Sound On Sound, writing articles, interviews and equipment reviews). I supply library/production music to U.K-based Focus Music and these tracks have been used in broadcasts on all the major U.K. channels including BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 as well as various digital channels (Sky One, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, E!, MTV, VH1, The Box, Animal Planet, The History Channel and others) and overseas (USA, Australia and the Far East). Usage includes advertising and radio applications. I am a member of the Performing Rights Society (PRS) and the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters.

Influences

Anything and everything. While primarily a guitarist, John also works with electronic sources and other musicians and is happy to produce music for picture in any contemporary style.

Bio

I've experience of writing music to picture and have a Diploma in Media Composition. I work out of my own self-contained digital recording studio.

I'm based in the U.K. but have good broadband links (including FTP for broadcast quality audio and Skype for video conferencing) and work with folks all over the U.K., and in the USA and South Africa on a regular basis without any difficulty. I've worked on a number of short film projects, have experience of writing Library/Production Music and have had material broadcast on all the major UK channels as well as overseas.
