It’s right around the corner! Johnny will release the highly anticipated debut CD, “Box of Photographs” on the ps classics label in early ’05! Produced by acclaimed artist and producer Richard Barone, and featuring Grammy winner Randy Brecker, the album successfully showcases Johnny’s eclectic songwriting and performing style – seamlessly shifting from jazz to pop to rock, and other destinations – while revealing Johnny’s personality in a cohesive and entertaining song cycle. In June of this year, the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame selected Johnny’s recording of “Is It the Way?,” co-written with Barone, as the opening track of their The Best of the New Songwriters Showcase CD.

2004 has been a whirlwind of music and travel. The performance schedule has included Fiji, Florida, Colorado, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin. In town highlights included Manhattan’s famed Birdland, Joe’s Pub, and the New York Friar’s Club.
Johnny has also appeared this year with Liza Minnelli, Kathy Brier, Jim Caruso, Lina Koutrakos, Karen Mason, Sally Mayes, and Jeanne MacDonald.
Studio Notes
Johnny is currently producing “Waiting for the Glaciers to Melt,” a new CD by singer-songwriter and Tony nominee Brian Lane Green. With original songs by Green and fresh arrangements by Johnny Rodgers Band, the album will highlight Green’s unique and widely admired voice. The CD is set for release in ’05.
Johnny is also currently co-producing “In Good Company,” a new CD by Lee Lessack. Co-produced with Lessack, the CD will consist of duets with highly respected performers including Ann Hampton Callaway, Michael Feinstein, and Stephen Schwartz, as well as many other favorites from Broadway and beyond. The CD, featuring arrangements by Johnny Rodgers Band, is set for release in mid-’05 on the LML label.
