Biog:-

Born, raised and still living in Worcester, England. After leaving full-time education, trained and became a chef specialising in Italian cuisine. Discovered a natural talent for music after listening to BB King, Robert Johnson, Freddy King and the like. Being heavily influenced by ‘The Blues’, joined a local R&B band and toured throughout England. Began to appreciate and be influenced by a wider range of musical styles from across the decades; The Beatles, The Who, Marvin Gaye, Peter Gabriel and Elvis, to name just a few. Started writing songs and formed a band called Start (first outing as lead song writer). Disbanded Start and became influenced by Latin rhythms and big-band sounds. Put together Rollercosta (eight piece outfit with brass section) performing my own ‘Latino-pop’ material.

Recorded album ‘By Far’ before going solo as simply Jamie Knight, writing and performing acoustic country-pop love songs. Recorded ‘Where The Heart Lies’ and toured extensively around England with help from several well respected musicians adding a live ‘depth’ to the acoustic genre. Recorded ‘Bound’ - a culmination of the last two years writing; honed and polished love songs.

Jamie Knight is currently heavily influenced by greats such as Jeff Buckly, David Bowie, Antony & The Johnsons, James Blunt, Damien Rice and David Gray. Jamie has now signed an American Publishing deal with ACM Records Inc..

The Story:-


BOUND - We are all BOUND by our environment, our expectations, our beliefs, our experiences. We may seem to be individuals but really we are Bound by the same rules of existence. BOUND reflects the choices that we make on our way to trying to be individualistic but actually our choices are really very similar and the results of our choices, although reflecting initially on ourselves, are not that different whoever and wherever we are. We all carry a loneliness. If we take a positive approach, from that loneliness we can all find fulfilment.

BOUND, the album, is an eclectic collection of slow to medium tempo, acoustic biased songs of love, loss and positivity. A rare example of contemporary musical honesty written, sung and performed from the heart and from personal experience. However the experiences that I write about can be related to everybody, in any walk-of-life because, we are all BOUND.

Genre:-


With BOUND, Jamie Knight, although influenced by many, sounds like none of those influences. Jamie Knight’s strength is his honesty in his writing, his passion of performance and sheer ‘balls’. If anything, Jamie Knight sounds like Damien Rice, David Gray and James Blunt.
