Bernie Bernie Headflap began as a recording project and live act at Ursinus College in 1992. Founder Alan McCabe kept it alive with a couple differerent line-ups after graduation. In 1998 Alan had to move back home due to poor health but he continued BBH as a recording project, which it remains to this day.

In 2006 Alan received a third kidney transplant which improved his health so much that he formed a live arm of BBH which is simply called Headflap. This power trio with vocalist plays energetic, stripped down versions of the sometimes synthesizer-laden software-created BBH catalog. Headflap will soon have its own recordings which will appear on this profile page.

BBH's newly formed live arm Headflap is playing at Philly's Tritone Bar on Sunday 12/14. We are in the midst of a recording project and have uploaded a preliminary mix of the reworked 1995 BBH song "Been Worse" which recaptures some of Alan's feelings about his brother's death, due to complications from the rare genetic disorder cystinosis. Alan has this condition also.
