Born in Binghamton, New York and raised in Athens, Greece, Alexander Vlachos (who goes by the moniker, Greater Alexander) is an Alumnus of Wayne State University with a degree in Music and a Co-Major in International Studies. During his time at WSU, Alexander studied Music Technology and piano enthusiastically. Alexander started mixing sound for the WSU Jazz Invoice Ensembles and got turned on to Bossa Nova and Jazz. His parents heavily played European artists like Georges Moustaki and Cat Stevens around the house while growing up. After graduating in 2004, Alexander spent numerous hours in his bedroom honing his guitar picking style and voice skills. He finally took the leap and started a youtube page in 2011.

Born in New York, raised in Athens, Greece, and now residing in Detroit Suburbia, Michigan, Alex Vlachos (AKA Greater Alexander) is an Alumnus of Wayne State University with a degree in Music and a Co-Major in International Studies. During his time at WSU, Alex studied Music Technology and piano enthusiastically. He started listening to more electronic music like Aphex Twin, Chemical Bros., and Chicane. Eventually, Alex started mixing sound for the WSU Jazz Invoice Ensembles and got turned on to Bossa Nova and Jazz. This triggered memories of the music he grew up listening to. His father and mother heavily played him European artists like Georges Moustaki as well as The Beatles. After graduating in 2004, Alex had written over 20 down-tempo Electronica pieces as well as many unfinished classical piano compositions. From 1999-2004, Alex was thoroughly practicing piano and it was not until late December 2004 that he started writing guitar ballads and up-tempo jazz/folk influenced songs.
