Gerry Mancuso , a refined percussionist, classically trained, has an impressive background. As a guest musician, Gerry has shared the stage with Louie Armstrong, Gene Krupa, and Ernst Hawkins. Gerry "beats" onward professionally as a percussionist with the Niagara/Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra for 7 years.
Gerry's background is quite extensive. He studied theory under Mr. Eli Sakes, who was a retired percussionist with the US Army Air Force Orchestra. His advanced studies continued with Dr. George B. D'Anna (PhD), formaly lead percussionist with the London Symphony, NY & Buffalo Philharmonic. Gerry completed his musical education overseas and was an accepted teacher at the Hoch Schule for Music at Graz, Austria. Gerry now performs locally either with accompaniment or by sitting in with other musicians. Recently, Gerry & Anton Oliverio opened for Carmine Appice at Generations Music store at the Summit Mall.
