Emily Elbert is a 18-year old singer/songwriter who blends a hip musical perspective with an in-depth knowledge of classic favorites to create unique vocal and guitar arrangements. Her contemporary acoustic style uses a wide-ranging guitar technique that combines jazzy lines with strumming and fingerstyle playing. Emily says, "I love music from around the world and like to combine the sounds of jazz, folk, soul, country, blues, pop, and world music into a style that is all my own."
A third-generation professional musician, Emily studied piano for seven years and began playing guitar four years ago. She sings with her school's national award-winning choirs and plays at coffee houses, benefits, festivals, and shows. Emily will major in music at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, MA, where she'll study contemporary music, vocal performance, and songwriting. Her new CD of original songs, Bright Side, is available through CDbaby.com.
