Bob, I went on NSAI site and watched your video on publishing contracts. It was very informative. Especially on owning your Masters and works for hire. Now I understand why it is so important for pitching to TV and movies etc. I only have one song where the work for hire papers were provided. Is there anything else I can do with all the old demo's or does it mean I would have to rerecord everything to pitch to those opportunities?
my guess is all you need to do is contact the vocalist and secure their permission...once you have it I'd feel good about pitching it for sync opps...without it you can only use it as a demo to pitch to other artists...if you own the individual wave files or session files they can be leased to make money and the master instrumental without vocals can be pitched for sync opps
great...it's only demos with a vocalist that may pose a problem...most music supervisors will ask for the artist's name and ask if you control the master
Thanks for the advise. Would you be interested in listening to more of my songs as a publisher?
sure...I'm always looking...I would need to know which songs you control and which songs you don't as well as which songs you have instrumental without lead vocal and which songs you don't
Thanks for the great review of I wanna Love you (like there's no tomorrow). This was done as a Demo several years ago. I did not get anything signed (work for hire). The producer that hired the players told me I was good to pitch it because it was all done work for hire being a demo.
Thanks for reviewing my song the Lords Prayer. thought you might like to know that the "synth flute" is actually a real Oboe. A bit unusual I know so easy to mistake. Thanks again Tom Zigler
Great! You sure fooled me! Congrats on using real instrument!
I don't say this easily or lightly. Love Me Southern is a hit. Good luck with it and If your ever looking to co-write, I live in Franklin, TN and would definitely be interested. Either way, I will be keeping my eye open for Love Me Southern on the charts.
Thank you so very much for your kind words. I do visit Nashville often so we can certainly meet up. My Nashville cell is 615-636-3609. Your number?

Just reviewed "What Give You The Right (To Do Me Wrong)" Love, love, love it. Great country sound.
when the praises go up--great song--i love it--joe.
Hey man your appraisal of my song "ON THE MOBILE!" was pathetic! The song is a lampoon against idiots who drive while holding the mobile D E R!!!!
Hey man, one man one opinion. Even satirical songs go over better when they sound professionally produced.
ooops.......I see I'm not alone......
Tom, thanks for the review of Sudburry Rain. Yes, it is personal (Sudburry Massachusetts), and a 25th anniversarry gift to my wife. Thank you for your comments, all reviews aand ratings are appreciated as it helps to see how the song is being heard. Thanks again! Matt

Hi, Thanks for your review of my song "My Sunshine" Just FYI- it IS a cover of you are my sunshine. ALL of the lyrics are followed to a tee, not just the chorus. Sorry it bored you and was sooo predictable. Hank
Hi Tom...thanks for your review of "Road That Never Turns"......I appreciate your suggestions and agree with them. If I ever record this tune in a real studio (it was recorded in my little "closet studio") I will definitely utilize your suggestions...thanks for listening and for your input.... Have a great day, Paul Mills
Tom You're pretty brutal on the scoring!
Sorry if I offended you. I listened to a lot of songs that day so I am not sure which one yours was. I would like to go and listen again if you'll let me know which one it was.
I've been at this too long...so I don't get offended....if you go to your review section it will be there under my name...Thanks for your civility!
Because you have been at this for so long you know that my review is just one persons opinion on one song at one given moment. There have been tons of songs that people pass on and don't like that someone else hears and turns it into a hit. Maybe all my years of music industry exposure has caused me get a little too harsh on my reviews. Good luck.
That's okay! Life's been good to me and has blessed me in many ways! The best still lies ahead! I appreciate you taking the time to try and square things!
