Hello Sébastien, You are going places! Stay focused. You have "Hit" quality material. I loved all your songs. All the best from North America, Ãlvaro Guevara y Vázquez, Composer BMI.
Hi Ãlvaro, Thank you so much for your support and kind words. It doesn't happen so often these days that someone takes the time to write a few selfless compliments to an artist. My motivation was a bit dampened the last months/years after all my requests to labels were turned down. But words like yours help me to stay focused and persevere. All the best from France, Sébastien
Hello Sébastien, Thank you for responding. In my lifetime, I have rubbed elbows with a barrage of Music Publishers, Promotors, Artistic Managers, Famous Celebraties. And a handful of "Classical as well as Pop" Music Recording Labels. The music business for a lack of a better word, is a racket! It's all about money and marketable commodities. Recording Labels are nothing more than banking institutions. Not to mention, they are a thing of the past. Nowadays, you can accomplish more with a "hit YouTube" channel and worldwide. Eventually selling Advertising to potential Sponsors, Entrepreneurs and Industrialist. In the end, it's the masses, who make you or break you. I have a well developed and keen eye for extraordinary talent. "Sabe más el diablo por viejo, que por diablo" The "Spark" that separates the headliners from millions of other trying to reach the summit. Without exaggeration, from what I heard in your works, you have that SPARK! Buster. I can tell you, it's only a matter of time that a Label or Promotor will take note of your unique gifts. Just don't give up. An Artist must be a fearless warrior. It's a vicious jungle out there. Just don't give up. Look for some Corporate Sponsors in France, that can dish out some "Advertising" revenue. Advertising/ Promotion is everything! I have a gut feeling, you will accomplish your goals someday. All the best, Ãlvaro Guevara y Vázquez, Composer, BMI
Hello Ãlvaro, I would like to thank you for taking the time to write these very nice and encouraging words regarding my work. I am even more touched that they come from an accomplished and talented artist like you. As you know, stepping into the limelights is all about meeting the right person at the right time. If only one of those people in the "vicious jungle" called music industry could share your belief and enthusiasm... that's all I can wish for myself. Anyway, let's see what the future will bring! Even though the voices of "giving up" echo louder in my head, reactions like yours help me silence them. All the best, Sébastien
Remember Sébastien, Sometimes Fame and Fortune, can deprive you of your greatest treasure of owning yourself. Or as German Philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche explained it: "The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." All the best, Ãlvaro Guevara y Vázquez, Composer BMI.
Hi Ãlvaro, I can't but agree to what you have written. People know me well enough to know that I take Nietzsche's warning to heart. Thank you for your unwavering support! Sébastien
Dear Roy, Let me share you how happy I am to see that you added two of my songs to the Pop 2019 playlist! I am very grateful. Thanks a lot! I wish it could help me to get some little recognition out there ;) that would be really great! All the best, Sébastien
Whats up
Great
Tears is the Sea, Sebastien, So emotional! Un seul jot, bravo. Et cette voix... Wow
Merci beaucoup Thierry! Ça fait toujours chaud au cœur de recevoir des commentaires comme le tien... Il y a aussi de belles compositions parmi ton catalogue de chansons très fourni! ;)
I just listened to "Loved by you", the song that has been selected in an opportunity where mine has been selected too. That's a beautiful song. I wanted to tell you this. Not sure you'll appreciate the comparison, but there is a little touch of Lene Marlin in it (which in my mouth is a compliment). Congratulations! :)
We Are is outstanding! Great song!
Thank you! "Come Dance" is a very beautiful song too. Happy that you've been considered for the opportunity, like me!
Hi Dario, First, I'd like to thank you for having reviewed my song. It's quite tough I must say, but very accurate. I agree on every point. About the accent, actually you're not the first one who reproaches me the French accent, not "genuine" enough as you said. Hard for me, as a French man, to get rid of every pronunciation mistake. But, I know I can do far better. By the way, I noticed that I've been improving myself on that part since I recorded "We Are". You probably guessed that every instrument of the song is virtual (including drums: EZDrummer from Toontrack, and bass: Scarbee Precision Bass from Native Instruments). I think that can explain why the performance of these instruments bothered you. I have some good plugins especially from Universal Audio, which help me (when I use them properly) to fake a bit the feeling of artificial virtual instruments... Sometimes it sounds almost natural, sometimes not. To be honest with you, at the beginning, working on my own was like a challenge for me. At the very beginning actually, I wanted to make a band, but I never found musicians who I feel "connected" with unfortunately... I mean having the same aspirations than me. So, a few years ago, I was fed up waiting for the good ones, and decided to learn the usage of DAW, virtual instrument plugins (because I'm not multi-instrumentist!), mixing plugins... and finally noticed that it was much harder than expected and that requires a lot of work and skills. Some of them I don't have. That's also why I'm all the more respectful and admirative of your work, by the way. Yes, length is my big problem. I like to make long songs... but I'm aware that I really have to improve this. Sometimes, people tells me (I can't say if they're sincere or not) that they don't realize my songs are so long. I take this as a compliment... this does not help me to create shorter songs, but I'm aware of that. Believe me, I really would like to work with you. Unfortunately, I don't know your rates, but I'm afraid I can't afford them. Anyway, I would be interested to know how you could help me, and how much are your rates. Maybe, you could spread the word to interested people (musicians or producers) ? maybe you are ? :) Thank you once more for your very good review. (Hope my English is not so awful.) All the best, Sébastien
Hey Sebastien, Thanks for the positive feedback. Please drop me an email on dariodendi@me.com so we can talk further. Thanks
Hi Sebastien, Just listened to your song "Tears in the Sea" and loved it! Such touching lyrics! And though the song has a sad feeling to it, the lyric is somehow hopeful. Your voice and the arrangement are perfect for the song, as well (assuming that's you singing)! Brilliant!
Hi Michael, Your compliment made my day. Thanks a lot! It makes me even happier that English is not my native language. I'm just a French songwriter trying to do my best while putting words on my melodies, and it's not always perfect I must say. The feelings you describe sound like the ones I wanted to convey. So, I feel like fulfilled.. And yes, to answer your question: that's my voice, lyrics, and arrangements. Thank you once again Michael for your very nice words. I like a lot the song "Michelangelo" !!
