Hi Matt! Another good one on "Cadillac"! catnip
Hey Matt! Nice shot on "Rise above the blues" ! Keep on truckin! catnip
Thanks. Will do!
Hi Matt, Many thanks for your very kind review of my instrumental "Blue". Not everyone seems capable of providing constructive comments, you definitely do - and I'm grateful for them. It's quite an old track and I enjoyed hearing it again but agree with you that it sort of runs out of steam a bit. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that it's really too long. I may well have a go at sorting it out and getting it up to date a little. Just had a listen to It's Alright, great track and very original. Thanks again, Bob
Hi Groomhill. Thanks for your feedback on Song for Irene. That goes back a ways. I do like that one as well. Listened to you other songs. Nice quirky melodic tunes with an inviting vocal delivery. Good luck !
Thanks for the suggestions. Definitely advice to consider. I wouldn't say that I had rockabilly in mind, but it's an interesting observation.
brother I hope you weren't offended at all. I like the track. But you could make that baby pop...would love to keep in contact
Dear Rabbit. Thanks for your insightful feedback on "Happy". That's the second time I've heard that about the vocals. I will definitely revisit the tune with that in mind.
Hope it helps! Cheers!
Thank you Kate for your thoughtful and positive review of "It's Alright". What I'm saying is that it's okay if I'm wrong and to be a flawed and imperfect being (as I am), and not to be ruled by the judgement of others. I believe that is part of Jesus's message.
Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation
Hi Scott. Thanks very much for the positive review of "Happy". Much appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to write fairly detailed reviews of both "Happy" and "Rise Above the Blues". Much appreciated. It's all Good Advice. Thanks.
Glad you find what I say useful.
Hi Matt, A big thank you for the review on "Love Overwhelms Me" and your constructive Comments are welcome and noted. Much appreciated!
Hi Matt; Really appreciated your review of Breakfast With Tiffany and in particular your thought on improving it. Thanks. Have just had a listen to some of your songs (you really are prolific) and in particular I love Song For Irene (jazz). It's now on one of my playlists. Well worth a frequent listen. Regards Wayne (part of Groomhill)
Thanks for the feedback and advice. It's sometimes hard to be objective when you are too close to a tune. I will definitely revisit the tune.
You're welcome, glad you found my comments helpful. Hardest thing to do in any creative medium is editing yourself.
Hi Matt. Once again thank you for the 5*. 'Wrapped Up In Rain' has been selected via a Broadjam listing for TV use. So I've got my fingers crossed that the music supervisor will use the song. Thanks again. David
Belated congratulations David. Any word yet on the status of "Wrapped up in the Rain", and whether it will be used?
Hi Matt. Hope you're well. To answer your question; no, I'm not aware of any usage yet. The song has been allocated to the music supervisors for six shows in the US, (I'm in the UK of course). It's a royalties only deal, so I won't know if it has been used until it comes through on my royalties statement. And as I'm in a 'foreign' territory that could take some time. Regards. David
Matt. Thank you for the 5* for drift. Much appreciated. David
Hi Matt. Thank you very much for your review of 'Drift'. Glad you liked it! Regards David
Another great song
Thank you David for your affirming review of "Rise Above the Blues". Except for a few edits the vocal was effectively written and recorded in one moment of brilliance by Kevin Denomme. The rest of it took too long to complete.
No problem Matt. Great song.
Would you mind telling me how you get that excellent acoustic guitar sound -- mics, acoustic space, doubling, eq, comp? -- without giving away any trade secrets, of course.
Hi Matt. No sorry I cannot advise on recording the acoustic guitar. I record it in a studio; Cluny Studios in Newcastle, England. The producer/engineer could give you the info no doubt but techie stuff is beyond me. I even refuse to have a mobile phone, to the annoyance of many people. I've listened to a few of your songs and they are really strong, well recorded and performed. They deserve more listens and a wider audience. David.
Hi Matt. Thanks for the review of my instrumental. Flow power flow. There's a version with lyrics that makes more sense. If you want to hear it search Flow Power Flow.
Hi Matt - thanks for your kind review of Obvious - cheers - a girl named jaen
Hi there Matt. Thanks for reviewing my "mood piece." I think you'll actually be surprised when you hear the version with vocals. By the way, I just visited the Badlands this summer! Your friend in FL, Mrs. Kate Here it is: http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.php?artistID=24409&mediaID=468605&play=true 1
Thank you very much, MATT, for your solid review of my song American Wars and for keeping an open mind to reviewing it even though you did not concur with all of the political sentiments, except for some of them. This is truly a sign of a fair and open mind on your part. I know that politics and religious beliefs can be very touchy subject matters and i applaud your fairness.
Sorry I sent the review off before punching in all the buttons!
Thanks Till for your very kind review of "Entitlement".
My pleasure! Hope to listen to more of your songs soon. regards, Till
Accidentally submitted my review before finishing the last couple of things. Really good song, but I had a hard time making out the chorus and that's why I couldn't figure out the title. But nice recording, good vocal and solo! Would love to hear a bridge on that track as well.
Thanks a lot for the helpful feedback. I will indeed go back and see if I can bring some sonic clarity to the BG vocals in the chorus. I've had the same observation myself.
Thanks a lot for the kind review of Chicigami. I like your stuff -- quite a broad range of styles. Great voice.
Thanks for reviewing our songs too. The voice is Kathy Hartman. You heard her brothers (Dan Hartman) voice a lot. On songs like Free Ride (EWG) or I Can Dream About You, Instant Replay, Relight My Fire and so on. He wrote songs for many other artist also like James Browns Living In America and Marky Marks Good Vibrations. Kathy has that same voice as her brother. I wish I was so blessed. Laters
Hi Matt thanks for the thorough review and insightful mixing suggestions!!!
Hey, Matt! thanks for the review! Yeah, I'm learning as I go as far as recording/ mastering, so constructive critique always helps! thanks again!
Matt, Thanks so much for your input. It really meant a lot to me. I will do the tweaking that you recommended and resubmit this tune on the different radio stations where my music is showcased. Blessings, Gearoid
Thanks for the review, found it very helpful!
Luke: thanks for the very positive and encouraging review. Matt
