Same to you bro!!
Marcel,I love your music, continue doing music
Hi Barry, Thanks for reviewing The Storm. I'm happy you liked it. Each song is hard as I write and perform all the vocals and instruments. Keep rocking out and we'll talk soon...
I enjoyed the listen and I can 100% relate to the self-production atmosphere--- I play everything on my recordings except sometimes have a drummer and hired a horn-ace on one tune..... it is an art and labor of love all in itself to write/perform/engineer/and produce work.... enjoy it!!
Marcel! Like your Sound! Welcome Aboard to the Best Musical Agenda around! You'll have a lot of fun on here believe me! I've been here for 17 years and it just gets better! Catch You later! catnip=+=
Hi. Thanks for reaching out. I've been here a while but not as engaged as I could be but it's always nice when somebody enjoys your work. Happy New Year!
Thank you for reviewing Dead End Love and your generous comments. BTW there's no guys, it's me playing all the instruments and vocals. LoL....
Respect!
Hi Marcel...I'm TK(tonykeys) from BROGREEDE...hey man thank you very much for the great review of RISE UP MY ANGEL.. Due to being confined during the pandemic I felt compelled to write this song...it's all me using just one of my many keyboards...the drums were programmed right from the board-no other musicians!...Brogreede was 3 of us...and unfortunately my brother & his roomie both passed away...leaving me the only one left..we were on Broadjam many years ago...my brother took care of all of it..when he passed a lot changed!! I tried to keep it going with his "roomie" & his son...but "roomie had passed as well and his son moved on with his life. So after a long break..I'm trying to re-establish what BROGREEDE was all about and looking for musicians that have the same passion for creating music and to keep the legacy moving forward!!...hey man ...thanx again appreciate it very much!! Sorry for bending your ear about all this!!!..stay in touch..all us musicians need to support each other and recognize each others talents!!!..
No problem, my pleasure. Keep writing and making songs.
Thank you for rating my songs with 5 stars, you're a kind man...
You're pretty critical but more often wrong with your assessments of the songs. I think you need to get out more and turn the radio or Spotify to listen to other genres other than the ones you write or perform. You mention things like not understanding the meter of a song or having too many words which leads me to believe you're out of touch with music in the last decade. Listen to different music than what you like and maybe you'll become a better music critic.
Hi, Marcel. First of all, I love the Philip Bailey/Phil Collins ("Easy Lover") energy in a few of the songs I heard on your page. 80s influence and very much pertinent today. Next, thank you for your thoughtful review of "Sunny Sunday." I'll definitely listen and try bringing more punch into the bass and bringing up the instruments. Those are very good ideas! John Walradt
You're welcome. Keep writing and making music. Happy New Year!
Hi Marcel, Thanks for your review of my song State of the Union - appreciate your time and comments. Regards, Treve
Hi Fred, Thanks so much for the review of "John's New England Fall". That was a piece I wrote as a theme/music-bed for a tribute video that I produced; a documentary type piece for a retiring physician and college president. I appreciate your kind words and perspectives... thanks again. Be and stay well, Frank
Hi Frank, thanks for reviewing I Got Da Luv and Dead End Love. It's fascinating to me the difference in critiques from person to person sometimes and what they hear even outside Broadjam. In both those songs you reviewed you mentioned the vocals even when I've gotten compliments on the vocals on every song and throughout my career as a musician and a Published songwriter. All my songs are scrutinized to death before they're even put out publicly and especially the vocals are analyzed for pitch and anything else you can think of. I've sent my songs to industry professionals in Nashville and vocals are never mentioned in any of their critique, in fact they love the vocals on most songs. Maybe it's a matter of style so I'm just curious. So it leave me wondering what it is you hear? If you can point out exactly where you think there's a pitch issue or problem in those songs I'll be glad to go back and listen again. Thanks.
Hi Marcel, Yes... reviews and critiques can really get subjective. I try really hard to let the person know if I'm commenting based on personal preference or more objective criteria. Because as you mentioned, music and performance can be so subjective. For example... one person once told me that Celine Dion is the best vocalist in the world and another argued that Taylor Swift is the best. Both were basically correct because they were basing their conclusion on their personal preferences. I really appreciate you asking for more specific information. This is exactly what I do when I'm trying to figure out if there's something that I can do to improve. I'll take some time to go back and listen and provide a bit more specific detail on what I'm hearing... both subjectively and objectively... I'll send you an email/message... probably over the weekend. Thanks, Frank
Thank you Klaus for your kind review of Goodbye My Friend. Much appreciated!

Amazing song!
Thank you Klaus for your kind reviews of Lifelong Honeymoon and glad you liked it.
Thank you jay for your kind reviews on Lifelong Honeymoon. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Jay, thanks for reviewing my song Sneak Me In Your Window. I wrote that when I was 19 years old so I agree with you in your comments. That song will be sung by a much younger guy than myself now and it will fit much better. But I had to sing the melody for whoever the next singer is. Thx for the kind review and keep writing. Cheers!
Hi Marcel, Thanks for the review of my song "I Will Find You". You are exactly right on the use of autotune. The reality is that you (and most others) probably would not want to listen to my vocals without it. I am definitely not a singer and pitch/intonation is definitely not a strength of mine. Maybe at some point I'll be able to find more singers that would record vocals for me... the problem is that I don't have much to offer in return. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to listen and to provide positive and useful comments. Be well, Frank
Anytime brother, just keep on rockin'....
Marcel, Thanks for reviewing "Huntin' In The Dark". This tune was on a bunch of top 10 lists for many months. Bill
Congrats and keep up the good work!
Hi Marcel, Thanks for reviewing my song "Take It Back". I appreciate you taking the time and provide positive comments as well as your perspective on the lyrics. I know that lyrics can be a personal thing... be it in the messaging and/or in the writing style... so I thank you for your input on that. Be well, Frank
My pleasure. Keep making music, that's the main thing.

Thanks so much, Marcel, for reviewing my song 34. Guilt. Much appreciated. Best wishes, jay
Hi Marcel, Thanks for a very constructive review of What If You're Wrong. I can only agree with you about the mix, I was going for a particular feel and think I probably overdid it a bit!! It's a controversial subject so I very much doubt it will ever see the light of day- it was a bit of an indulgence at the time and I probably will leave it as it is. I might find new lyrics for it one day and will reconsider the mix when I do. Your review was honest and helpful - I like that! Cheers, Bob
No problem my pleasure. I try to be as honest as possible even if sometimes it may not be what people want to hear. And I expect the same if somebody reviews my songs. Take care.
Likewise Marcel, otherwise we don't learn.
Hi Bob. All your songs are very well crafted and recorded. Professionally executed and radio ready. Curious where they were recorded...
Thanks much! Everything was done here in Charlotte NC at GAT3 Studios. I have 1 guitarist that plays almost all parts (including bass) on all my stuff, and another guy who does all keyboard parts. I've used 2 different drummers, and I'm singing all parts on 95% of my songs. What can I say, I'm retired living on Social Security so we pretty much try to kill it in just a couple of takes, then overdub. GAT3 is a great little studio, and they have Grammy and Dove awards to their credit!
Do they have a big board or is it ITB all digital? And who mixed and mastered the songs?
They use ProTools, but here's a link to their website so you can check it out. The owner (Glenn Tabor) mixed one of my songs, but all other mixing/mastering/editing has been done by Wade Starnes. He's really good and oftentimes we'll take a handful of takes Jeremy played on guitar and "build" solos from that piece by piece. It's been very effective. https://www.gat3.com/studio-a
When you check out the client list, you'll see everything from Def Leppard to Da Baby to Queen Latifah to James Brown to Third Eye Blind. They can pretty much handle anything plus they're exceptionally nice people!
That's great. I'm mostly a rock/pop guy but have a bunch of songs that needed to be country as they were too good to waste on a pop song.;) I took my 3 songs to a Producer in Nashville and they did record through a SSL 9000 which was great. You get that big open sound. he charged me $2,400 for the 3 songs and he used his own musicians and vocalist. I didn't really have to do anything except sit and watch. But I'm open to checking out other possibilities if I hear a good sounding demo or finished product.
Very cool. I'm particular about being involved in my songs, both performing and mixing since I don't have kids and these are my babies. But whatever works! I just reviewed another of your songs by coincidence.
Thanks for the review of my instrumental edit, Marcel. The actual song is called "Cowboy" (I Wanna Grow Up To Be A Cowboy) and the full vocal version with harmonies is here on Broadjam as well. I just shortened the instrumental version so it would be tighter. Hearing it in context with the vocal does make a difference, but some Music Supervisors are only looking for background instrumentals. Thus the 2 options.
Got ya! I'l check it out. And thanks for your kind reviews of my 2 songs 40 HR Weekend and Mistake. I appreciate it....
My pleasure, Sir!
