Thank you for your encouraging review of my song And Back Again. I recorded it years ago and agree, the intro is too long. Sorry I can't listen to your music but I'm traveling at present and for some reason my iPad won't support the Broadjam music format. Good luck with your work. John Hanlon
Mercy Beacoup for your kind review. Underneath the moon was recorded years ago but I still love the song myself. At that point I hadn't yet been to Paris, but I have since - twice. Love it! Wrote a song on my last visit called 'on a Boulevard in St Germain'. I'll record it one day and maybe you'll hear it. In the meantime please drop not m website johnhanlon.com.au for music and other stuff in my manic life. I'm traveling at present but as soon as I can I'll listen to you music. Take care, John
Hi John, Just reviewed 'Playing it by Heart'. Great song. I forgot to tell you, you have this cool Harry Connick Jr. vibe to you. Cheers, Mike
Thanks Mike. Not sure if that's very flattering to me or vaguely insulting to Harry :) delighted you enjoyed the song. Please drop into my website johnhanlon.com.au from time to tome to check out what I'm up to. I'm about to check out your music now. Havent even seen your review yet, however in assuming it will be encouraging. Take care, John
Hey Tommy, thank you so much for your encouraging review of my song 'Wake Up'. I Have to confess, though, mate, the guitars were played by studio musician friends mine -- Peter Northcote and Rex Goh. I write the songs and sing them but, for the most part, leave the playing to real musicians (like you). Listening to your stuff now. You rock!! A great guitarist having fun. Wonderful. Take care and thanks again. John
You welcome John, great song. Thanks also for the nice comments, will be checkin out the rest of you songs also. Tommy
Thank You so much for your kind review of my song Carnival. If I ever remix it I'll take care to get the voice clearer so you can hear the lyrics properly. Good luck with your music, which I'm listening to now and like :) John
Hey David, thanks for your kind and considered review of my song 'All there ever is'. I recorded it many years ago. Like you I write in many genres but, the way the world is now. music is merely a hobby for me now. Nonetheless, encouraging words from a fellow writer are always welcome. Listening to your songs now and enjoying them. Take care, John Hanlon
Hiya John. I really liked your track and I'm not surprised you've had some measure of success already. It's nice that you've taken time to listen to my many and varied efforts. Best wishes. David
Your review of 'that young child' was right down. Yes, the indulgent end. This is an unmastered version - left it up for sampling.
Thank you so much for your kind review of my song 'The Boy's in Love'. The good thing is that it led me to your music, which I really like. So I'm a winner all around :) John Hanlon
John, what a nice comment. You made me feel good. I was glad to do it. I really enjoyed it. Sylvia
Thanks so much for your kind review of my song 'Wake Up'. Caused me to check out your site where I listened to 'This Someone Slse' and plan to listen to more later. Loved it. Great voice Julianne. I believed every word. I wish you the best of luck in this fickle music world. John Hanlon
It was my pleasure listening, John, I love your style, you have such great material. I appreciate the complement too. Actually, Julie sings on most of our tracks, but that particular song you listened to was sung (and co-written) by Cristina Ferucci, who we began working with last year and is only 13 years old! She's got a very bright future. I wish you continued success as well! Chris
Thanks John for your review of my song Terror bone. I agree the arrangement is a bit casual. I grew up in Nelson NZ (and have returned there) so you were big on our radio back in the 70s. Damn the Dam was great. Your new songs sound equally as good. Good luck with your 2nd coming Steve
Hi Steve, '2nd Coming' may be overstating it a bit :) I never stopped writing, mate, I just walked away from the stage. Have a gazillion new songs though and in some respects feel I have unfinished business. Would quite like to remind Kiwis of who I am and what I do, but I'm not at all sure anyone would care. You may see me travelling past with guitar in hand one day, or not. Anything is possible. Take care, John
It is a fickle business and the new generations probably don't care about the past but for our generation you definitely have a kind of iconic status and a recognisable brand (trade mark sound) so I would have thought you could trade on your name quite a bit over here. These types of site are great at least for having a chance of getting music heard. I've found sound-cloud good with 4000 hits on 2 sites over 2011.
It's all too hard for me to administrate Steve. I'm so busy with this and that. I have a great many songs but too little time. Plus, to be frank, I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to the internet. It seems every time I'm urged to go to a 'you beaut' music site another handful emerge. It's overwhelming :) Might return to 'trade' on my name one day. It will be small, unambitious tiru playing old and new songs. Probably just me nd my guitar initially and if there is great interest, I'd up the ante for the second tour. It wont be until 2012 though. concentrating on promoting and marketing a book I've written this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgXA8-NHdLU 1 Take care, John
thanx John for your kind ans suggestive review of Just An Accident...that is an interesting idea you had for the "funeral" type theme, but this is the best i can sing...LOL...and actually was resung a few months ago to fix the old vocal of mine...but i hear you, good suggetion, but realistically won't happen as i move on to new stuff.. thank you again! all the best to you and yours warren hein
my plasure, mate. good luck with all you do. John
John, I tried to do the showdown selection but it became too much like a parent choosing a favourite child as I love them all lol Lois
Hi John, would still love to buy those 5 songs. Was it something I said Sarejevo Please don't go That girl and me She believes in me......(you know I do) Lois
John I hope you are on here putting those songs I wanted, up for sale. Lois
Hi Lois. Remind me what songs you were talking about
Hi John, these are the 5 songs that I don't already have, so would love to be able to buy them. Was it something I said Sarajevo Please don't go That girl and me She believes in me Love your work, Lois
Hi John, could we be so lucky that you will one day be adding more songs to your list ? Lois
