Lennon and Nesmith tracks are excellent! I have to know: Did you flip the tape over for the backwards guitar? If not, it's the best VST I've ever heard. - Nan Michaels
Thanks. On "I'm Only Sleeping" the backwards guitar is manually done. I flipped that part of the song, played along, then flipped the song back. There is more Backwards Guitar in my songs, "Hold Down The Melody" and "Signal Run." I like doing it. Cheers.
Wonderfully done. I'm inspired to fire up Ye Olde Ampex and align that puppy up. Wonderful playing you did - very creative. I'll check your other tunes out tonight. Backwards is pretty much impossible in the digital world and expect the results that you came up with. There's one or two VSTs that modify the envelope for a few seconds, but they really can't do an entire phrase. I played with a small palindrome in the fade on my track Drift Away. It channels the strings on the end of Glass Onion. It drives you a little nuts - sketch it out on score paper so your brain gets around the phrase. Still....it's a lot of fun.
Great job on the production and writing for the song Two Spies. I love the chord changes, vocal harmonies, and the overall production
Thanks Jim!
very cool concept, lyrics on Sun and Rain--i'd suggest what i do sometimes...another singer might do a better job--and trust me i mean no offense, again well produced as well...wh
Thanks Warren!
hey john nice production on Tell Me What You Want To Hear--them drums sound real?? if not well done mixing either way...cheers to you, Warren Hein
Hey John, congrats on the new album. It's always a great feeling of accomplishment and creative joy. Best, Jim
Thanks for the review of my song Blue Ridge Mtn Home. Youe the firt person who didnt get it but made my point for me. Its not supposed to move forward as you say. Each verse tells its own story. Paint a picture in your head? Yer review is the lowest review I had of My Blue Ridge Mtn Home since it been on here.
For me it was a highly rated song. A good one even if I didn't get it.
It's important to keep in mind that Broadjam is a low stakes arena, and that's a good thing. The impression that our music makes on others is something that we can get here with a blinded honesty. This is how we get away from self-inflation, girlfriend/mom smoke blowing, and delusions of grandeur. When we ask for a review we ask for someone's opinion. If the review is respectful we need to honor that opinion even if we don't agree. I read John's positive comments, and they were glowing feedback. And it's a very good tune. Quibbling over points is not worth anyone's time.
Thanks for your review on my song "At the foot of the cross" John - I will work on EQ problems. Thanks,
very cool tell me what you want to hear...if we think of the music biz, this tune FITS PERFECTLY as well as the intended...peace bro, love it... wh
Hey John, many thanks for your review of my tune Too Much I Don't Know--good production notes sir, and i get them, but it's done and over now, being almost a decade gone...my producer did what i told him, so all the minor negatives are on me--you were very kind in your review however, so no complaints!! LOL...peace bro...and with respect for you and your music... Warren Hein
Thank you for spending time reviewing my song, Don't Do It. It is much appreciated.
MGB, Thank you again for reviewing my songs and for the kind comments! Yes, I had The Beatles and ELO in mind when writing and recording One Last Try Tonight.
Powerklash, Thank you for reviewing my song, "One Last Try Tonight." Yes, it was intentionally written like a Beatles/ELO song. I'm glad it was apparent. I purchased a Rickenbacker bass and immediately wanted to write a Beatles tune. True story. LOL.
Hi John! Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and rate my new song "Mysteries"! I really appreciate your continuous support. All the best!
Anita, Thank you for taking the time to review of my song, Bird In The Hand.
Thank you for taking the time to listen and review my song, Hold Down The Melody.
Thanks for your review of my song, Douchebag. Yes, the song was a cathartic exercise. It was easy to write. You picked up on the fact I tried to make the production match the subject matter.
Hi John, thank you for that excellent review of "when you looked into my eyes ". Check out the vocal with Phoebe Blume. She really captured the essence of the song. Have you heard of the British group Procul Harum? That is the structure I was going for with A liitie Rachmoninoff in the intro and ending. Thanks again, Felice
Bit vague, not big vague.
Thanks for taking the time to review, So Much Older. Yes, I understood "bit vague." I found this song unfinished on a 4 track tape that I forgot about. It was just bass and guitar played to a click track over 25 years ago. I kept the bass and guitar and added the rest to complete the tune. The ending is what is was, an unresolved ending.
Thank you again for reviewing my song,"Hold Down The Melody."
Ante, I don't think I ever thanked you for taking the time to review my song, Douchebag. I need to catch up on things in 2018:) Thanks!
Your Welcome!!

John, thanks for your review of "Loose Jing". I've been intending to re-record it to clean it up. Probably should make it a New Years resolution.
"Claims" - a clever song, Jeff! Nicely done.
Thanks John! That's an old that I just threw up again for Ss & Gs.

And the "Night Mix" of Even Now (along with the original version) is soon to be officially released as a maxi-single sometime in October on JMP Music. Very proud and happy to be bringing a wonderful talent like Jeff Roberts to the commercially released world soon! :)
