Jimmy- congrats on Someday being selected for opp!
Thanks. It's nice to be selected, but placement would be nicer.
One of the best
Come Home Again.. Simple and beautifully performed. First song out of 50 that I went past a minute in the 6 pack competition. I liked "Queen of My Heart" also. Perhaps that guy is a little too submissive, lol.
Hi Jimmy! Submissive? Really? I'd say that's an understatement...lol! Thanks so much for listening and taking the time to share your thoughts. It is very much appreciated! Best of things, Michael
Let Me Down Real Easy, Nice! GREAT lyric. Hank
Thanks. I appreciate the comment. Picked up 2 years ago by a Nashville publisher. I think it's getting dusty sitting on their shelf.
Two cans in a row! THis time it was ANOTHER set of three of your songs all against each other. Twice in a row... all six songs were yours. I just scrapped it to try to reset the thing :-(
Hey Doug! That's weird...not sure why the songs are not mixed in with the others! I will have to look into it with BJ. Thanks for the heads up though. Appreciate it.
Hey Michael. I figured out what it was. If you submit a bunch of songs together part way into the competition, the algorithm will quickly try to get your songs as many listens as the older ones in the can. This is what will cause the bunchings of your songs. In the helpful hints blog, this is why it says to space your entries throughout the competition.
Thanks Doug. I did submit a bunch all at once. Did not know that they would all be grouped together. Just assumed they'd be mixed in with the rest. You learn something new everyday! Thanks a lot for looking into it though. Appreciate it.
Come Home Again...Simple, and Beautiful. Amazing voice
Got a note attached to a opp (Comic Book opp) that the provider needs more songs and has asked for more time. Uh, As far as I can tell, he hasnt listened to mine or anyone elses submission. Might want to go ahead and listen to a few before you decide need to hear more. Sheesh.
It's an absolute joke isn't it Donovan? I don't bother submitting to anything anymore, except when I have free submission credits.
Same Donovan
There's a submitter born every minute. I'm with Zac just using "freebies". I love this site for the music connection with a great group of folks. But I would really like a closer look at some of the business practices. Everybody's got to make a living, and knowing the inside story might actually make me more of an advocate.
I didn't read the fine print...it's for a COMIC BOOK!!!
The opps are a waste of money and they are almost always phoney. Even being accepted has turned out to be suspicious. I'd rather put the money toward my work and not worry about who likes it or mystical opportunities. More fun this way, too.
That's right Jeff, it's the social side of BJ that makes it worthwhile, although I wish I just had a free membership because I don't know what I really get for my monthly bill.
Well there's server space, programmng, admin time, all of which costs money, so in return for the really great benefits of the being here I'm happy to pay in something. I just hate snake oil stuff, if it's accurate to call it that.
I'm really here for the interaction with other musicians, which is great. I''ve met some wonderful people on here, and I've got about a half dozen songs that would have never seen the light of day, had I not met these folks.
lived it, learned it, and the social and/or collaboration has been worth it anyway... good comment
Yep Jeff, snake oil is a great way to describe it!
Are there farm subsidies available for milking dreams?
LOL!
Brian, I got the S.O.S. from Gus about Buckless lyrics. My writer's urge got all fired up and I wrote some stuff. I'll send it along with a rough vocal version. Do what you want with it. Cut me in if the hunters go crazy for it. lol jburnevik@aol.com
:) Sent you an email.
Donovan, Damn Fine Job with HITD. You shall rise above. Congrats on 10K+ Plays. Let's met up in the 6 Pack 2015. - Nick
thanks Nick much appreciated !
Donovan, I shortened up "Lets Get On Line", that Facebook song, and eliminated the duo part as per your suggestion. Sent it off to PMO in Nashville. It landed hard and got a little twanged up. lol It should be all right though. I also had him redo "Blue Sky Morning". More earthy. I like it. Have a listen some time.
HITD..Very Nice I listened to it twice. I could almost see a pop star sitting at the piano, blasting out the chorus!
Thanks Jimmy , also checked out your new version of On line - it's really a cool song!
Jimmy, Awesome stuff! Congratulations. Three songs in one day... a real good day. Stacy & Mike did a great job on a great song too. Peace, brother.
Jimmy, lad. Someday is Top 10 bound. Let the Love and Sun Come! - Nick
Every Single Day, my brother Jim, is Excellent! Don't give up on Folk! Look at humble me, the most unloved Live artist, now loved Dead. God bless Roy for letting Folk Live! Sending you a Pal request to get you connected to the Light. St. Nick
Congratulations on having had one or more of your songs "selected" from the pitch opportunities. I was wondering if you were ever contacted and if you feel that making pitches to Broadjam has been a good financial decision for you. Thank you, Donna donalarose@aol.com
nice song
Hey Jimmie...Just listened to "Someday"...Congrats and nice writing.. Just noticed, Mike Lusk is singing the demo..He is doing a new song for me in the next couple weeks. I feel good about that after hearing the job he did on your song...Good Luck, nice melody!!! Ed Bentley
