Ok, I thought about it, but I don't see how that would be a problem if my name were Colin Clapp. I'd deal with whatever my parents named me. "Boy Named Sue," right?

Well, the title said Laura Clapp. Was it someone else?

Again, I thank you for the very thorough and informative review. You are correct in your interpretation of, "The Powers That Be." It's about not always giving credit for your accomplishments to a higher power but patting yourself on the back for something well done and trusting your own abilities. Best wishes, my friend.

Hey Colin, thanks for your review of Carolina Roads, and the cautionary advice on the bass. At times I tend to write a little bass heavy. I will be more aware.

Hey man, no problem with writing bass heavy. Just make sure it sits well in the mix and isn't overpowering. Again, my setup could be a little "bass-sensitive." I like the song though. I haven't listened to very much of your stuff yet. Just wondering if all your stuff is instrumental or if you sing too. IYAOYAS!

I have not attempted singing yet, but that is coming in the near future. Want to make sure I can build the proper beds for the vocals.

Sure thing! I hope I didn't come off as being too harsh. I really did like the song, I was just trying to give you some feedback to make it more commercially viable, if that's even your goal. If I heard this out at a bar one night, though, I'd totally love it. Best of luck to you as well!

Sure thing! Like I said in my review, I really like your voice. I think it was probably that the mic didn't capture it in the best way possible. Best of luck to you!

THANXS--COLIN--yes--it probably was that--I do this one at my live shows a lot-I get to put my whole being into it--recordings don't always capture the soul of the thing--best of luck to ya--cheers--nj----I usually get a standing ovation with it at my live performances too!--that's a blessing.

Hi Colin, thank you for reviewing Reflections. I appreciate the feedback, and it is very good feedback as well. You were correct about the the method of composition. I would like to add you a s a friend, because I feel you can offer me so excellent direction. I see you an I have a few other things in common. I grew up in DC, and I was an Aviation Ordnanceman in the Navy, assigned to the Wolfpack for 3 years, and serving my last years on the Kennedy. I would love to learn recording techniques from you, if that is ok?

Hey man, nice to meet you! I hope I wasn't too harsh. I just wanted to be completely honest. I'd be glad to give you input when I can. I'm not a pro engineer or anything, but I do know a little about recording as well as the business side of things. I've only got 1 song on here myself, but I plan to record a lot more in the near future. I'm kinda new to broadjam, so I'm not sure how the friending process works, but definitely add me. Maybe we can collaborate/co-write sometime. Also I'm on Facebook (facebook.com/songwritercolin) and twitter (@colindyermusic). So, feel free to hit me up there. IYAOYAS!

Oooh! I got chills with this one! Great job! It even got me a little emotional (don't know why). This is the best one of yours I've heard yet!

Fun song. Sounds familiar, but I can't think of what it sounds like. That may be a good thing. Have you co-written with anyone? The only suggestion I have is that you consider making your choruses a little more complex. Having a good hook that gets stuck in your head is great, maybe even essential, but having a chorus that is completely made up of the hook gets tired quick. Just my opinion for what it's worth.

I like the melody and the rhythmic flow of the song, but the hook is a little too repetitive and the lyrics sound like a tribute to Twilight. I do love the vocals though and the production quality sounds really good. Overall, I'd say it's good, just not for me.
