Cheers costa for your review of 'im cryin'. appreciate your comments. understand what you mean, 'twas an older one of mine. thanks again for your input. Be well :)
Hi Costa, thanks for your positive review, very helpful to benchmark my song 'Epiphanize'
Hi Jeff, thanks for your constructive review! really helps. And you rightfully identified that I am a singer that also plays some guitar rather than the other way around....
Hi Ben, I just went and read the lyrics. I really like them (and relate too much unfortunately) !!
Ben, thanks for the review of "Waitin' For A Sign". Haven't written a political tune since the early '70's. Probably be my last. Just curious, how did you end up in Singapore? Bill
Hi Bill, my pleasure. Just listed to it again. And to Time Traveling.... You have amazingly crisp and transparent recordings, great work ;-) I ended up here in Singapore for my day job, I am a flavorist (someone who develops food and beverage flavous) at Givaudan, a major Swiss flavours and fragrances company. Music always stayed my passion....How about you? Always lived in Washington? And how about the music? I saw you have some songs for sale. Generating income from that? Cheers Ben
Ben, I believe that you're the only flavorist I've been in contact with. Singapore seems like a very fascinating city to live in. Spent some time in SE Asia in the late '60's working for Uncle Sam.... I've had a pretty varied set of "careers" in my stint on this planet: Dock worker, US Navy, electronics tech, race car mechanic, parts sales, general contractor (residential homes and remodeling) while always working on the music, playing clubs and bars and finally getting my BFA in music (Jazz), when I was 35. Presently still doing the carpentry gig as a one man shop. Washington has always been my home, though I've been fortunate to visit some of the rest of the world. I've sold a few tunes on BJam. One of the members in Canada owns a studio and bought a couple entire sets of my stuff, and some friends have purchased singles and albums on my personal website; billdakemusic.com. Not really making much, but having fun writing and getting feedback. Plan on getting back to doing live gigs soon. Bill
Hi Bill, nice to hear back from you! Great you made music your (only?) source of income.... and wow, BFA in jazz....impressive ! I could never get it beyond serious hobby...but interestingly, my song 'Pay the Price, that gives quite polarising reactions, both to the song and to my singing, made it no 6 in the Singapore national singer songwriter top ten in reverbnation. Of course, not nearly as much competition as in the US, but nice nevertheless, as I am in it for the honour rather than anything else ;-) Also, because of this, I get a lot of reactions from all over the world. Am enjoying it ! Cheers ben
