I just had to give you a well deserved, 5 Stars for "The Balladeer"! It may help you knock me off Top spot in Country Traditional, but I had to be true to myself! It's a great song in Lyrics and Melody! (And vocals of course). I like a Story Lyric a bit like Epic Tale, (Cohen and Lightfoot) and the melody, especially the chorus, is memorable! Love it! I have a song, "My Last Farewell" on here which is about a Country singer also! ( I would like Willie N. To sing it!) Great New Year to you!
Hey Jim! Thanks for the great feedback, and that's high praise indeed, to be mentioned in the same sentence as Cohen and Lightfoot, two of my idols. I put together a video for the track, which you might enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNj jvHm66aY. Meanwhile, I will check out My Last Farewell. Thanks again for the rating, and here's hoping that Willie covers your tune in 2022!
Your link on YouTube does not work!
Try this: https://distinguishingmarksmusic.co m/videos
It says the url cannot be shown. Is there supposed to be a space in your title. "Mark'sMusic.co m/videos" in the word "com"
I was right! I have closed the gap and I have accessed your site. Will look for balladeer video! Cheers
Video brings the song more alive where you can relate to Lyrics. Well done. You even had space for my hero, Leonard, early on! Video always brings a song alive! No more so than the two I have on my pages here on Broadjam. Go watch "Drift Away" video. It is a True, emotional, child's story! Then, "Reach the Sky" video is a more singalong chorus Country story, I made. Lastly, there is a Lyric video of "The Promise" which is presently a Finalist in 3 of the Big National Song Competitions.Let me know your thoughts! In the meantime I'll watch your other few videos. Cheers, jim
Thanks Jim! Will check out the videos...

Hey Parvin & Patterson, we are doing pretty well out here on the West Coast! Now.....if I could just stop drinking spiked Metamucil smoothies in the morning, I'd be set!! YIKES!! The Corey's.......... Again, Love your tune, "SWEET ANGELIQUE"!!!
Happy New Year everybody! If you get a chance, check out my new video for "The Balladeer" on YouTube. Hope it resonates with you as songwriters ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNj jvHm66aY
Hi all, I hope everyone is staying safe - and productive! Nothing like having some "extra" time for composing. Please check out my new track, "The Balladeer", written as a tribute to all the great tunesmiths we've lost, and to all of my fellow songwriters. A composer friend of mine in Europe heard the song and told me, "The world is a better place with your music in it." Now THAT is some high praise! Best, Mark Patterson
Surrender is a very nice song!
Thank you!
I enjoyed 'More Blues Than I Can Stand',very nice,Emmett***
Hey Emmett! I checked out a handful of your tracks and it's just as I thought! How could you "not" have that Funky groove coming from the birthplace of such Funk Giants! Loved the grooves and energy in what I heard! Montuno, Pass The Peas, and Sanctified all have that element of Funk and Jazz which definitely gets the feet tappin'! Peace, Tony
Thank you very much my brother Jantony, yes home of The Ohio Players,Lakeside,Heat Wave,Slave and others, please join my fan club page / https://www.facebook.com/groups/129 091775451 / thanks again and check my other songs,Emmett***
Hi Emmett, I listened to your track titled "Montuno" and I was very impressed! A lot of talent I heard. I thought I was listening to George Bensen meets Earth Wind & Fire. Thank you once again for your nice comment of my composition titled "Coastline Drive". Cheers, Leonard Rogowski
Emmett, thanks a million for the 5-star rating of our "More Blues Than I Can Use" track. Much appreciated!
Hope everyone is staying safe - and creative! We just finished mixing our latest track, "Indigo". Check it out when you have time. Thanks!
Greetings all! Hope ought-19 is treating everyone well. Time permitting, check out our new track, "Beat It Out Of Baton Rouge", the true story of a wild weekend in the South that ended with my buddy and I getting thrown out of that city - forever. I wish I could say it was just youthful exuberance, but I was in my 30's at the time. Enjoy!
I love the vibe, the tone, everything, great job!
Thanks! Lots of Nashville A-listers on that track...
Wow, excellent work. This is not a regular country traditional sound but amazing work.
Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated!
Greetings fellow writers and musicians! When you have time, please check out my new song, "When The Fertilizer Hits The Ventilator" about loyalty in an age when it's in short supply. Recorded at Pentavarit Studios in Nashville. Words and music by yours truly. http://parvin-patterson.com/song/0 1

You have a lovely voice! I very much enjoyed "Arcata"
Thank you so much!
Just heard your recording of Ain't No Sunshine reviewing for the 6-Pack and what an arrangement! What a sound. Sublime. Best, Hattie
Thanks Hattie! That was my 16-year old daughter on vocals. And if you liked that, check out her cover of "Crazy He Calls Me". Best, Mark Patterson
We have just completed our new recording of "Stuck (Country Version)". The song is a tongue-in-cheek look at the perils of getting branded, in this case by a bad tattoo! Please give a listen and let us know your thoughts.
Happy Holidays everyone! We have just uploaded the mastered version of our new track, "Stuck", a tongue-in-cheek cautionary tale about branding - in this case matching tattoos! Please give a listen and let us know your thoughts as time allows. All the best, Mark Patterson
"Stuck".....a cautionary tale, indeed! Great story telling and vocals. Merry Christmas and a great New Year to you all!
In the past three weeks we've had instrumental versions of our songs selected for film, TV, and pharma commercial projects. We can only guess what medication our track will be floating over (!)
Just uploaded our new R&B track, "Tuck 'N Roll Naugahyde Booth", that looks back on life along the California coast in the 50's and 60's, reflecting on the stories that played out there in the old beachfront bars - with their red upholstered booths. The track features brilliant vocals and keyboards by Lee Parvin, lead guitar from Mike Tyler, rhythm guitar by Bill Hampton, Bass by Paul Olguin, Drums by Jon Uhland, and spectacular harmonies by Neil Young vocalist Nancy Hall. We had so much fun with the doo-wop harmonies that we couldn't bring ourselves to fade them in the outro!
Great retro R&B, and the story it tells; love it!
Hi Cyndi! And thank you for the kind comment. We really had fun on this one, which we wrote for ourselves ;)
Just uploaded our new Zydeco-Rock track, "Can't Get Enough of You", featuring stellar performances by Lee Parvin on vocals, keys, and accordion (yes, accordion!), Mike Tyler on Guitar, Paul Olguin on bass, and Danny Montgomery on drums. Man, that was fun to write and record!
Alex Patterson has left a beautifully distinguished style of her own, on these great covers, "Ain't No Sunshine", and "Crazy He Calls Me", and with a retro flavor, befitting the songs! Great vocals Alex, and all the best to you!
Two of our covers, "Ain't No Sunshine" and the Billy Holliday classic "Crazy He Calls Me" were selected for the Women of Substance radio program. Both tracks feature 17-year old Alexandra "Alex" Patterson on ld vox.
Major Congrats - Women of Substance knows who's good. . .
Congratulations! Alex's vocals are incredible!
Thanks very much for the rating on "Invisible". Much appreciated! - Mark Patterson
Just uploaded our latest tune "Invisible" for anyone who's ever felt like a stranger in a strange land - whether at home or abroad. We were lucky to have the legendary Bobby Black on pedal steel AND Broadjam pro reviewer Joe Vitale on drums. Nothing like working with the best!
We have four tracks under consideration by rising country star and ex Navy SEAL Pete Scobell, who currently has the #1 iTunes country hit with his tribute to American Sniper Chris Kyle, "Hearts I Leave Behind", a duet with Wynonna Judd. Great guy, great story!
