apologies to my fellow B'Jam Fam. as of late, I have been spending most of my listening-time to the PGO music catalog. reason being, it is my intent to launch a new website with distinctive landing pages/music channels to navigate some 40 odd years of music. and, odd it truly is as I have embraced a number musical genres fueled by both collaboration and my personal penchant for change. no, I am not leaving B'Jam and intend to remain a card-carrying member for as long as I can hold onto that card. recent examination has revealed that I am merely mortal and human. cataracts and macular degeneration are in progress. the cataracts can be surgically removed - a procedure that should not be required in the near future (they say five or more years). the macular degeneration is a different matter. currently, there is no medical process or procedure available to stop its advance; meaning - sometime in my seventies or eighties I will lose all central vision with only some peripheral vision remaining. looks like I need to re-learn how to play on my guitar with eyes closed. yes, that prognosis was an eye-opener; both literally and figuratively. thank GOD, I have my sense of humor to lean upon. just imagine: an elderly musician, tapping a long white cane with red tip, seeking a place to sit down with his guitar, opening the case so passer-bys can drop a coin or two in its cavity whilst listening to music that never got licensed. "Wednesday's Child is Full of Woe" - an old saying that fits my current mood. thanks for allowing me to rant and laugh. . .
I would even give you a dollar in your case because you are the best and I would give you an arm to guide you were ever you need to go because I am your friend in music.....Delta
Praying for God's Divine Providence and healing in your life, Peter. God bless you!
Peter, so sorry to hear that. My father just had cataract surgery and luckily he's been doing just fine... but I worry for you as I did for him. Hey... at least later on when you lose your vision you'll be able to say, "wanna bet I can play my guitar with my eyes closed?" and you'll be one hell of a player. I see lots of bet winning in your future :)
Delta that is very sweet and kind of you to say. and, yes you are indeed my friend in music. . .
Greg thank you for the prayer for Divine Providence and Healing. it truly helps. . .
Mourning Stone. cataract surgery has come along way in this age and time. it is now considered a simple procedure with a 99% success rate. macular degeneration is a whole kettle of fish. the eye doctor has prescribed a special nutritional supplement that has shown to slow down the progress. the hope is that I won't face the center blindness until well into my 80s. besides, who knows what breakthrough might happen over the next 10 or 20 years. just have wait and see both literally and figuratively.besides, macular degeneration gives a whole new meaning to the saying, "he was watching you thru the corner of his eyes." see (oops another pun) I still have my sense of humor. besides, I blame my three ex-wives for robbing me blind (okay, I will stop). thanks for your concern. . .
Love , prayers , and healing out to you , Peter!! ;))
We got the faith let's move the Mountain....Prayers Sailing Up Love Abram Band Dean & Jacalyn
Julia, Dean and Jacalyn - ain't it amazing what we find out about ourselves thru the simple experience of living one's life. thank you for your blessings - so much stronger than five stars and playlist adds. not that we should ever dismiss the B'Jam Support System. even if only online and thru our music, we are afforded the grace to see each other.
Wow Peter I just read your post! Sending you good, healing vibes (and a message)

most recently, forgave myself the absence of fingers on the neck of an acoustic guitar by purchasing a 2002 Taylor (that's why I still drive a 1992 Nissan). she has solid walnut sides with bookmarked back. soundboard is aged sitka spruce. best part (and, I believe all acoustic instrument players experience), when I hold her in my arms, pressed against my body, we resonate together. my chest becomes an extension of the guitar chamber. wow - what a feeling I lived without for far too long. GOD Bless the luthier who figured out how to create this instrument. and, thank you, mister Taylor for reminding me what I might do with hands, mind, body and soul. CHEERS!
Jealous!!! Have fun with that guitar Peter!
i am. . . she rings like a cathedral bell!

this is what I shared on my FB account. might I encourage our B'Jam family to do the same. let's give NJ his 10,000 listens. . . "a dear friend and beloved musical member of Broadjam.com is forgoing cancer treatment but it would appear he has not been given much encouragement from the attending doctors regarding his recovery. if you have a moment please listen to this song. it personifies his great spirit. his name is Nashville Joe and the song is "Ill Meet You at the Rodeo". what a gift to NJ if we could cause his B'Jam page to break thru the 10,000 listen mark. Please Share. . . http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.php... 1 1
