My new CD, NORTHERN DRIVE, has just been released! Recorded at Dubway Studios in New York, engineered and co-produced by Alan Houghton, it contains 11 new songs with a northern twang. It's an "enhanced CD" with a video of me playing and singing "Hole In the Wall" at Luna Stage in Montclair, NJ, produced by Digital Cafe Tour (www.digitalcafetour.com).
Clare Cooper bio
CLARE COOPER is a singer/songwriter/keyboardist from New York City who performs both as a solo artist and band member. She's a graduate of Berklee College of Music, has won songwriting awards including the Songwriter's Guild of America President's Award and the Abe Olman Scholarship, and has performed in songwriter events for BMI, NARAS and the Songwriter's Guild. Clare has been featured on radio programs for Brandeis University, Fairfield University, at the Audio Engineering Society Convention, and on television in "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."
Northern Drive, her second CD, is the result of a northeasterner immersing herself in country music, then combining it with a lifetime of rock, pop and blues influences. It's a loving tribute to her family and the hometown where it all began.
“Wonderful songs with strong melodies...They are fresh and full of passion and conviction.” George David Weiss, President, Songwriter's Guild of America
“Likeable, warm and engaging...with intelligent and fresh lyrics” Claudia Koal, Director, Songwriter's Guild of America
"Extremely heartfelt and real, as if in communication with close friends...” Good Times

Praise for Clare's first CD, "Valentine"
"The disc came without the usual fanfare - no record company hype - straight from the artist herself. Just judging by one listen to "Heaven," "You Kill Me," and "Human" it's clear that Cooper's got the potential to make it in the big leagues. Her solid pop sensibility, a warm and inviting vocal style, and way with words should definitely land her a deal. Why she hasn't been picked up by a label yet is a mystery to me." Aquarian Weekly
