The Meaning Of Cadenza: A solo instrument that elaborates through a small passage with a soft sound at the end.
Born Glenroy Dillon, the artist known as "Cadenza", is just a cool and humble person who is inspired by healing the sad, the depressed and the broken hearted through his ever conscious music.
Cadenza's journey began at age 14 when he had the privilege of singing with a band from his area that was playing at a Christmas party at his uncle's house. The youngster bravely seized the mic and sang his heart out and to everyone's amazement, he was great and immediately was celebrated by his peers as the next artist to bless the family. Although excited, young Cadenza didn't take his music very seriously until a couple of years later when again, just as an experiment he recorded his first demo at a friends bookstore on his computer and began distributing CDs to his friends and people on the streets. For the second time he was pleasantly surprised when the absolutely positive feedback started flowing in. He was young, excited and gracious for the overwhelming response and immediately, the artist now known as Cadenza was borne. With the fire for entertaining firmly lit, he ventured further along his musical path and started visiting recording studios in his area and soon he was performing at small stage shows in his community and eventually at major stage shows outsideof the community.
His confidence as an entertainer grew and soon, he decided to enter "Ink", a parish competition designed to seek the very best of Jamaican talent in his parish of St Catherine. As a contestant, Cadenza toured to the hottest night clubs in Jamaica and thrilled his audiences finishing a solid third in the artist competition and a rewarding second spot in the modeling segment. By now Cadenza had created quite a buzz and he caught the attention of GT Taylor of Irie FM who took him to a major celebration at Monroe Colleges 100th anniversary. The star studded show featured the likes of established artists such as Christopher Martin, Noddy Virtue, Twins of Twins, Will Dutch, and Fiekez. Un-phased, Cadenza fearlessly represented and in fine form he took the stage by storm and simply stated he made the girls go wild!
After this, there was no turning back, Cadenza was now a professional artist and his road to success had begun. Eager and focused, he constantly sought guidance and council and was blessed to have been able to link with great elders such as Beres Hammond, Ken Booth, Barrington Levy, Eddie Fitzroy, The Whaling Souls, Carl Dawkins, Junior Vibes, don Mafia, Devonte and his auntie Philiss Dillon.
Today, a mature Cadenza remains grounded and humbled by his god given talents and his incredible guidance from such a wealth of awesome veterans. He is intensely adamant on achieving success at the highest level and has defined his image and artistic philosophy as he continues to amaze his fans with awesome writing and vocal skills. As an artist he has focused all of his creative energy in to the sole purpose of writing uplifting words for the people so that they can find peace love and unity. As an accurate self description, in his own words, Cadenza said "My mission as an artist is to create uplifting music that not only sounds great but ultimately is able to make this world a better place for all of us".
